10 - Gigabyte

Gigabyte technology

I literally had no time left to speak the marketing buffs from Gigabyte, yet was able to snag a couple of photo's for you guys.

The Intel X48 based GA-X48-DQ6; a very snazzy product feature packed with everything you can think of and loads of overclocking headroom. Expensive boards though. I believe that manufacturers have to pay like 90 EUR for the chipset alone, and then have to build the mainboard around it. No kidding there Einstein.

Check it out, nForce 790 SLI - ready for all the lovely 45nm Intel processors, dual PCI-e x16 and then another x16 port. Interestingly enough we spot yet another x16 port all the way to the left. The board is 100% passively cooled with nice copper heat pipes. Gigabyte integrated a the ALC889A HD audio chipset with 106DB Signal to noise ratio (which is great).

And then one of the newer designs. This is the Gigabyte Poseidon 310 and comes with brushed aluminum front panel; prepared for water-cooling. The housing has a tool-free design makes screwdrivers and other tools superfluous to the installation of optical and fixed drives. Not too expensive either, roughly 80-90 EUR.
