Albatron

We quickly hop by Albatron. The company is having a hard time and is struggling badly. Nothing much to report here other then they had the usual items on display.

Among them the 8800 GTX.

Check that out, it's a 7300 GT with a cooler close to what we've seen from XFX and Sparkle.

Galaxy Technology

As usual we always stop by at Galaxy. I had a quick informal meeting with our press-contact there covering some basics. But what I want to show you are some nice photos. Check it out:

Now this is really interesting; Galaxy is in the final stages of releasing it's nForce 680i SLI mainboard onto the market. Now Galaxy is among the few to have redesigned the 680 mainboard, allowing the same overclocking function yet saving 30% on power consumption. So it's really interesting to see a 680i board that they are making themselves. I am missing some functions there though. No debug LED, reset/power micro switches but that's pretty much it. The fans you see on the product are not the final ones by the way. It's an interesting concept, but they need to speed up the R&D process and get this to the market though.

And they're also working on a nForce 650 based mainboard. Which is quite frankly a really great SLI mainboard yet has only dual x8 PCI-Express lanes available (less bandwidth). A rather interesting product in the mid-range segment as it's much cheaper.

Furthermore the generic graphics cards. Good to know is that all series 7 boards are being equipped with crypto rom, so all products will be HD ready. Notice here the HDMI version btw. The x1 PCIe GeForce 7300 GT is interesting as it's heavily overclocked and performance is near default GeForce 7600 GS levels, according to Galaxy.

What's special here ? Correct, it's a PCi-Express x1 card. Dirt cheap, yet if you're not really into gaming & need good HD decoding, or simply think of this product as add-in card for PC builders. Or hey, HTPC... connect it to your HD screen.  It's fun stuff, as it has all the Series 7 features but lacks raw power obviously.

The 7900 GS 256 MB

And the 7600 GT Zalman edition. I think we tested this one a while ago. We have some reviews on their Zalman cooled products. Be sure to check them out, good stuff for sure.
