Performance - Storage USB 3.2 Gen2 and NVMe M.2

USB 3.1 / 3.2 Performance

We’ve tested USB Storage speeds using the Flash Drive. It makes USB 2.0 at 25~30 M.B./sec look rather pale in comparison. That is the maximum performance for the USB stick right there.

  • USB 3.2 Gen 1: originally known as USB 3.0 and previously renamed to USB 3.1 Gen 1. It’s the original USB 3.0 specification and can transfer data to up to 5Gbps.
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2: Previously known as USB 3.1, and later as USB 3.1 Gen 2. It offers speeds of up to 10Gbps.
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2x2: formally known as USB 3.2. This is the latest and fastest spec, promising up to 20Gbps (using two lanes of 10Gbps at once).
