Performance - overclocking
OverclockingThe luxury of receiving a press-sample CPU has certain advantages. In this case the processor was unlocked, and well .. I have just the mainboard to deal with that. We where able to overclock the CPU towards 2.33 MHz, by itself it does not look like that much of an overclock, yet bare two things in mind. One, we use standard cooling. Two, the overclock still is an additional ~150 MHz extra. We simply increased the multiplier and core voltage until the processor could handle no more. We got it up-to roughly 2500 MHz and it would still post yet became unstable. With a better cooling technique we most certainly would have gotten it stable. We took the safe road and Ocerclocked while remaining 100% stability was set at 2.33 GHz
