This does raise a question. People have been playing 8 years for now, how long will they play ? There have been quite a few other MMORPG games there but none have managed to do as well as WoW on player count and money income. Game does not look good, but looks decent enough for people to play, that being said, graphics will hadly make anyone change the game. When WoW2 comes out with graphics update and will make Blizzard stop making new expansions for WoW, do people stop playing, go for WoW2 or pick up some other MMO as it is going to be a clean table for all of those games (if Blizzard doesnt make some kind of "import your character" option for WoW2), I mean, no previous players, no characters there or anything, from that point of view it does not matter what MMORPG you pick up next. I really am curious what is going to happen. I am hoping for WoS but that seems a bit unlikely...

I think WoW has lived it's life. Doubt there will be a WoW 2, is that confirmed or something? I believe they will just continue improving WoW. But man, to what garbage that awesome game has turned into is just unbelievable. Everything up to TBC was just awesome, but then when that piece of crap WOTLK came everything went just downhill. Also I think ever since Blizzard merged with Activision it's gone for the worse as well. D3 for example, they won't be able to deliver another WoW classic.

I don't think a WoW2 will be released anytime soon. Blizzard is currently working on Titan -- which is to be based on a new IP and probably be a completely different experience from WoW (most people are predicting an FPS MMO set in space, but who knows) Titan kind of has me excited, mostly because it's being designed by Jeff Kaplan - who is the main reason why WoW was so successful/amazing in the first place -- at least up until around Burning Crusade (in my opinion). Really the main reason why Blizzard games are so successful is due to how polished they are on release. They feel like a complete experience in every shred of detail found in the game. I mean I don't know a single person who played WoW during beta/the early stages who wasn't completely blown away by the amount of detail in that game. And yeah, I don't see many companies being able to deliver that same experience, it took blizzard years to develop that game and I'm sure tons of money but they clearly got their return -- and obviously had a huge impact on gaming, including PC Gaming.

What I don't understand is who is playing WoW? Literally all my online and IRL friends say that they think it sucks and haven't played in years, they even say their friends have quit the game years ago as well. So who's left to play? All those kids and other new players who never experienced the "real" WoW? I mean where they (in my opinion) went wrong was giving access to content for everyone, even the most retarded of people. What was there to achieve when everyone had full epics from the best raids no matter how they sucked? And the little things like epics from heroics, and queue finder. I admit I wanted the queue finder and I liked it at first, but not until I found out what it destroyed. What made the dungeon/instance experience so nice ultimately? You had to find a group of players, who are willing to invest time into it, and people who actually walk there and summon the whole party. And once there it wasn't faceroll you actually had to use CC to complete many dungeons and it was just so rewarding for the items and the group experience (now it's like you are playing with robots). I mean who used to level with blue items? that was just overkill. Even in WOTLK it was just retarded if you didn't have blue gear while leveling. For me the game lost its challenge and its status/prestige. There's nothing I want to achieve in the game. Just log on and go to Orgrimmar/Stormwind. What's the rarest mount? The race defaults, back in TBC and maybe even WOTLK, it was cool to have a special mount, but now everyone has huge badass dragon flying mounts (remember when you had to farm for weeks to get a normal/flying mount?). They might just give players the ability to spawn items, it would be the same.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. I mean I invested a lot more time into that game then I definitely wanted too -- but at the time I felt like I was being rewarded heavily for it. I played a human mage (alliance lol) and one of the things I wanted to do badly was to turn in the quests to get a NE mount. After AQ I believed they added some cloth quests or something, basically it was hours and hours and hours worth of grinding -- which I did in order to get it. Then literally 3 weeks later they rolled a patch out and just made it so you can buy whatever. Multiply that with every single thing in the game basically and that's what it become. I quit shortly after Burning Crusade, my guild was in the Naga raid thing, I don't even remember the name -- but I remember the trash clear to the 3rd boss? The guy after the giant morphling thing, took forever. We spent like a week clearing it only to have one chance at the boss before the zone reset. Then like the very next patch they halved the amount of trash and nerfed like every boss. Then like every guild was suddenly able to catch up in no time. Felt like all the time I put into it was useless.

Same for me, except it only took about a month. WoW is the most boring game that has ever existed. Get Item A, so I can get Item B, so I can get Item C.... no thanks.

That's how most games work. Get and X amount of experience or kills to lvl up and unlock new weapons. And how can WoW be the most boring game ever while 10 million people still enjoy it? Stop living in your own little world.

For him, it is, so... whats the prob? I think wow its good because all the "socializing" it has inside, like a second life, not because the game being that great by itself.

WoW is still a good game, actually, it's a great game. Only game that comes close to it is GW2. I say close because GW2 lacks end game content, otherwise it would be on par with WoW. A lot of people hate WoW for wrong reasons. Reasons like "It sucks", "Worst game ever" and so on. Majority of those people never realize that they are just simply tired of playing ONE SINGLE game for 5 years. I was among those people who hated WoW for wrong reasons, but not anymore. I had some great times in WoW, but I played so much (5 years) that I started to see the repetitive patterns crystal clear and couldn't continue doing that anymore, so I stopped. If someone who has never played WoW in the past starts playing WoW, I think he or she would be overwhelmed by all the content it has to offer compared to someone who has played it for 5+ years. A long paragraph, but I thought it would be worth typing it and enable some haters to look back and find the real reason behind them quitting WoW.

Opinions don't operate on a majority rule. I think it's boring. Deal with it. It basically came down to the repetitiveness and lack of feeling of accomplishment. Get to max level, just so I can do X raid. Do X raid just so I can have 1% chance to get a certain item, and even if that item does drop, I have a 50/50 chance because another party member also wants it. So on, and so forth. I guess I can see the social element of it, but I didn't find that to be worth it.

How many days (years? lol) have you put in to the game? Don't you type something like "/played" or something like that to find out?

Huh? You still even now need exalted with the home faction that you want the mounts of if you are of a different race and that has never changed (although with pandaria mounts are now account-wide)
