I recently updated my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210) to Lineage OS 14.1 with Android 7.1.2.
Not sure why Samsung never updated past 4.4.2 cuz it works just fine.

I was tired of waiting the Oreo upgrade for my S8+.
I flashed Google Edition Android O (ZRA5) [Beta 6] yesterday, it's smooth and fast.
You can choose to install or not the Samsung bloatware and which one.

I will have it (A3 2017) but it is been known since 3-4 months now.

TBH I am relieved that my Galaxy S6 and Tab S2 are NOT getting Oreo.
Because I'd die waiting for official OTA update

Not going to hold my breath for this to happen.
Currently using a Samsung S7 and it looks like its still on 7.0

If your Samsung phone is not on the list get Lineage.
I have Android 7 on my S3.

I have it on my OnePlus 5 for a while. Can't say I noticed much difference from 7, because the phone was super snappy and fast even before the update.

Well, S8 with their own Exynos CPU doesn't have the update listed yet (beta or not)
Only the Snapdragon version has it.
But not complaining... it works blazing fast in anything I've thrown at it so far so all good.
When it comes, it comes.

S8 Oreo testing is still going on ATM, no idea when it will end. Even if the rumored list mentions other phones, there is no telling when they will get it. it could very well be when the next android will be announced lol
I'm doing fine with a 7.1.1 note8 port for my s7 edge. no way i could ever go back to stock nougat.

I got tired waiting oreo or even nougat update to my oneplus 2 so I bought iphone 7+ problem solved. 😉
I really hope that googles project treble can solve this ongoing issue.

Here’s a list of Samsung Galaxy devices that may receive Android Oreo according to leaked firmware

I guess Samsung has just a one person working on firmware since it takes more than half a year to compile it.

I guess for the kind of users that comes over this forum and like android, lineageOS is more than ok.
I flashed it on the oneplus2, that was stuck at android 6, ( and the worst oneplus ever made ), and after a couple of bad builds happened in january, now to me look very good.
Dual sim support from oxygenOS was a little bit better IMHO

Why does the a3 get oreo and my s6 edge not? Is it simply because its a business oriented phone?
