2 out of the 3 drivers I own are PCIe 3 So, yes, they are already supported!
It would be silly if it didnt considering even intel 10gen do not support pcie4. Being supported is a one thing i wanna see the benchmarks and loading times. 😛

Says both my drives are supported one is a 2TB Intel 660p and the other is a 1TB MSI Spatium m480, will be interesting to see how the slower Intel drive compares to the Spatium.

I'm after a reason to bother upgrading my main gaming PC to Win 11. This could well be it.
Same! Looks like I could be on w12 after xmas depending on what games come out that are direct storage optimised.

If you mean DirectStorage itself, it's also available on Windows 10. Hell, it was originally announced for Windows 10 before Windows 11 was even a thing. Microsoft have put some FUD out there about how you'll get the "best" experience on Windows 11, but I'm willing to bet that there will be zero difference in the real world. I guess we'll know in October.

Same issue.
Windows Settings --> Apps --> Apps & Features --> Windows Security --> Advanced Options --> Repair & Turning off "Real-Time Protection" In Windows Security --> Virus & Threat Protection Settings and then retrying the update fixed it for me

It won't on my pc, because the update is botched. KB5014668 won't install (0x8000ffff).
You have to update/install through the MS store, the info on compatible devices is accessed through gamebar/settings NOT windows/settings

By October they better fix the annoying bug in 22h2 version where everything on windows 11 gets a dam checkbox to the left of any file, its super annoying, windows 11 thinks my desktop pc is a tablet, and they removed the option to disbale tablet mode, they really mess with the basics
thats an option, and you turned it on.

I had to revert from 22H2 because there's no way to disable the Touch Keyboard and handwriting service, it's all been unified into one service that controls all input in 22H2, very annoying as the touch keyboard causes crashes with several apps I use regularly, it's a shame as I like the new task manager in 22H2 and overall it feels a lot snappier.

Imagine actually saying something relevant. This is not about just a games load times or game saves. Some games mods, and large assets are in the documents folder with game saves. And NVME makes a big difference for me in loading those. But hey, you already seem to know everything. We are just being needy 1st world douche bags.

Are you using RAPID mode or are you using StoreMI?

This security bug was already reported on Build 22621.105. The problem is caused by a leftover folder from when a new Windows Security platform was installed. No idea why MS did not clean that out. Check your update history to see if you got this KB5007651. It will be in the list with the defender definition updates. https://filestore.community.support.microsoft.com/api/images/eb007a5c-6729-420c-a78e-fcc426b4854d?upload=true Check if you have this folder 1.0.2109.27002-0 in SecurityHealth. If it is there you can delete it with all its contents and the problem will be fixed. C:\Windows\System32\SecurityHealth\1.0.2109.27002-0

Ghosty:

I don't have that update, and i just checked that folder but it was empty, but thanks for help anyway 🙂 The bug hasnt happened in few days now so i will just hope it doesn't come back anytime soon, temp fix is to restart windows explorer from task manager or wait till they bring the proper fix in Build 25136 Fixes [General] Addressed an issue which was leading to some PCs being erroneously detected as tablets. When this happened, compact mode and the option to hide checkboxes in File Explorer wouldn’t take effect.

My Samsung 970 Pro M2 Gen3 showed up as unsupported, it transpires that Samsung's very own NVMe driver version 3.3 isn't supported. I had to uninstall this so I am now running off Microsoft's own Windows 11 driver. Now I am supported. Kinda makes sense given the last update from Samsung was quite some time ago and the later 980's don't require the driver.
