A code clean never happened. They just branch off, they start to do bigger changes, without fear of breaking stuff, but i m not really full of hopes. Is application compatibility that keeps them OS mostly the same. Hardware did not change much since 2015, more cores, but the same cores. Windows 10 starts to be snappy just now, i do not want to think of changing it.

Monstrous programming is made by monstrous developers, independently how many times they start from scratch.

Windows Ads coming soon to every PC with forced updates and bloatware. you will spend more time uninstalling the tracking and bloatware and trying to make windows run well than you will actually using it lol.

As long as my games and Vr hardware run i don't really care what Windows they bring out, and if it is free again like W10 then i won't say no. lol

Windows is a 'service' now. What matters now is how long the hardware from the manufacturer that is in your computer, is supported and if the manufacturer cares to take time to support new features in successive builds of Windows.

Yeah, Microsoft will undoubtedly find some bright, shiny and exclusive thing to dangle in people's faces as a temptation. Pretty sure that DX13 will include DirectSmell technology.

I can't see them using the number 13 to be honest.... they will use something else for the nomenclature.

Its a myth that they said 10 was the last, as they never said that, it was just some dev.

Hey, with the right hardware, I thought Windows Vista, especially with SP1 and beyond, was really good. In fact, I thought it was better than Windows 7 but, oh well, things always move on.

I went from xp to vista when they got released but was early and finding even drivers was challenging ! And the liwer perfomance was just not worth it then went to 7 eventually . So really i have no clue how was vista sp1 , either way on windows 8 metro was massively disliked that's why almost everyone almost forgot 8 ever existed, they even tried to double down with 8.1 till they cave in and gave us the start bar of windows 10 witch i like . Removed everything that was there and now has only things i put there .....we will see on w11 if they will get it right or one of the most famous programs will become something like start11 !
