Great! IE11 is probably the best browser ive used in the last few years. FF and Chrome are just too bloated and suffer from feature creep, though currently im using FF Light as that has certain addons IE doesnt. MS need to be careful of using so many names etc that are associated with Halo as they run the risk of making Windows seem like nothing more than a gimmicky addon to the xbox franchise.

feature "creep"? IE is largest pile of crap I have ever used, which constantly has issues where others don't. Chrome all the way, plenty of addons and with recent x64 support its lightning fast and stable. I fully disagree with you.

Ie I only ever use IE its the most secure browser out there and nothing anyone says is going to change that FACT. I find IE fast stable and reliable so anyone who has problems with it should probably go on a computer build and operating system course.

If they change too much to shoehorn in metro junk, it won't be any better than 8.0 was on release. Anyway, I use Firefox as it is so they can do whatever the hell they want. It's not like corporates are in any hurry to adopt the latest MS browser. I still have to use IE 8 for a few plugins.

The only problem with IE is whats between the keyboard and the chair. Adblock works fine with IE, slap on magic actions for Youtube and away you go. Granted it is more at risk of those pain in the arse search bar addons that cant be uninstalled easily. Easy fix though. Save bookmarks -> Turn off/Uninstall IE via Windows Tools - Turn on/reinstall vis windows tools and fixed. Yes, Feature creep. Your post implies you dont know what this is, i could be wrong, so no offensive intended. Feature creep is where a products designer/s feel the need to add and pile on more and more to the point where you end up with a product that while works, it simply gets in the way of itself and causes issues. In the case of FF and Chrome - Bloated, stuttering videos on youtube and other sites (no dirty thoughts please), long frequent pauses/freezes/hangs (more so the longer its been installed and this requires a fresh install to fix, more often than not), flash/java crashes, messy interfaces and constant wanting to connect this device with that device etc. I often find myself just yelling at the screen when using FF or chrome and screaming "Leave me the f*** alone, I just want to search something! I dont want to sync, I dont want to like, I dont want to share!" Though, FF light has been pretty much on par with IE11 so far. IE11, imo, is simply the most functional browser out right now. It just works and it minds its own business without trying to convince me to sync and share blah blah blah. IE knows its simply a gateway to the Internets content and doesnt try to be anything more. The older i get, the more i expect things to just work and if something has a specific purpose, then stick to it, dont try to be a master of all trades as that never works when it comes to software. I have more issues with browsers today then I did in the 90's because of this incessant need to add more and more unnecessary features to what should be a basic tool for view the content of the web. Just piss off and let be search for what im looking for. FF and Chrome are like the annoying sales assistant and want to sell you insurance on even the most basic of products. I've never understood the ho ha with privacy issues with Facebook etc, browsers have been far more guilty of similar things for much longer, yet nobody started a petition because of it. Browsers are, if they havent already, are fast becoming a middle man that everyone is afraid of the govt doing - controlling what content you see, share, can and cannot keep private and so on. Why would the govt need to control the internet, when they can just announce a state browser that everyone must register to use and access the internet, an Internet/WWWeb passport of sorts.

I really like the current IE. I actually don't want them to mess with it in terms of UI. But a proper framework for Extensions would be a major boost. I'll reserve judgement.

a lot critic IE, but it is not so crappy, it does what it is intended for and not too bad... (on some point better than the "burning fennec" and the "bling bling metal" i agree) anyway a new browser is a nice thing 🙂

the Internet Explorer name is perfect and it's been with us for so long. just keep it Internet Explorer, no 11, 12 or whatever, put the versions in the builds. job done.

mmm... i don't think we have the same definition of "lightening fast". chrome used to be fast (what make his popularity) but no more since some release... to have it fast you have to start from chromium deposit and cut all the crap, compile and now it is acceptable. ok on linux we get used to do that, ((just a troll about windows despite i use it too sometime lol)).

This. I moved from Chrome to IE11 when it launched and haven't looked back. Hosts file + IE protection lists = no ads and no crap. It's the fastest browser for me, bugs are very rare now. At launch there were some problems, but I don't have those issues any longer. Firefox is my "backup" browser and I rarely use it. Chrome has become a memory hog and it's no longer the fastest. It's starting to become bloatware. And actually, if you test it on low end machines for more than 5 minutes, it's clearly the slowest out of the three.

IE is also much faster for me than Chrome and Firefox. Put a few decent TPLs on, no adds and it flies.

Excited to try it when it releases, always liked IE, had more issues with other browsers than it.

Try all browsers with touch screen on Windows and come back to tell us which is lightning fast. Mouse scrolling and static viewing on "common" setup hides the issues, but scrolling by fingers and pinch to zoom really bring the performance issues on FF and Chrome to the light. Not to mention the hundreds of times "fixed" memory leaks in FF.

I also like Internet Explorer. I have to use an old version at work, but I have used newer versions at home on personal computers....as long as you don't go to porn sites and hollywood rumour BS websites that link through facebook and try to run all sorts of scripts etc, you don't get any sort of trouble...and don't install Java. The only reason I use firefox at work is because the company runs all IE traffic through this new filtering thing and I cannot stream radio or change sites without putting in my password.

Issues? IE is probably the most 'compatible' browser there is, I use both Chrome and IE and have no problem saying this. I also find Chrome to be the biggest piece of spyware on my PC, having to run addons to stop it from contacting Google.

Another IE user reporting in. New light browser ? We'll see, not that I was wanting for a new one. Is that new one related to WP browsers in any way ?
