I love white cards. I've read that all Windforce based models including the Gaming OC versions have issues with their fans ramping up suddenly and make rattling noises. An issue that was present in those Gigabyte cards in 10xx series as well.

so if I don't install their "software", in which mode I'll be stuck in, the OC or gaming?

White Powah!oops, sorry. After red, green, black, blue PCB is time for white PCB. 🙂 But Pascal can do more than 1700MHz core clock.

That's a nice looking card. Pity it wouldn't go with my case aesthetics.
Its a pity that Gigabyte is producing it. They make garbage and have an unpublished warranty that is in full violation of the magnisun moss act. They then short their customer, refuse RMA fixes upon delivery and dont ever consider using cross ship. They will ship another broken card and refuse to fix the one you sent them.

Owned plenty of Gigabyte items over the years, and never had a single one of them break down.
Same here. Even now this Aorus card seems decent.

I've only ever had one failed Gigabyte product, and that was because of a combination of things that I wouldn't totally blame them for. It had a 3-year warranty, and just a few months before that warranty expired, I contacted them to fix it, which they did. It was a relatively easy process (they didn't fix the problem the first time around but they sent me a whole new board the 2nd time). Granted, this was around 2014 so things might've changed since then, but like others have stated, Gigabyte certainly isn't garbage. Anyway, the PCB for this GPU is still black. The only white parts are the heatsink housing and backplate. If anyone really wants a white GPU, it's not hard to just get any model you like, take off those parts, and spraypaint them. A white PCB is more eye-catching and special, IMO.

I had an HD7950 Windforce x3, but I seriously don't recall any suspicious or annoying event. Think and thought that card became much better with time, much better drivers since first gen GCN cards. For instance, at the beginning I could barely keep 50-55FPS on Battlefield 3 but after 2 months, same settings ( High ) always VSynced without any problem. Nostalgia since that was and is my only AMD card.

Gigabyte should have released a firmware update for the black to white back plastic cover change. I'm joking!

Your the joke! Downloaded the firmware update just now - I can here a bit of tinkering going on and a pssssssssssssssssssss! Oh that must be the spray 😛 Seriously! I have had no trouble with Gigabyte, normally my choice of manufacture, being there RMA for UK was or still is better than others. Still not saying they have had a 100% record, and if i got secondhand card after a new one failed, i would shop elsewhere.' Did you hear me Giga ? ' 😎

It's what users are reporting in GB's forums and elsewhere. The affected cards are all Nvidia Windoforce based models from GTX 10xx series and RTX series. They stated some hardware limitations for the fans rattling noises due to their suddenly ramp up from 0% to 40% speed or smth like this. Don't know if GB fixed it but it seemed like a hardware limitation or "defect" from their response. I like clean and simple cards and these GB white cards are perfect from me only if they didn't have the fan issues.

I appreciate you coming to Gigabytes defense. To me and the small claim I had to put against them for my vega 64, they will always be thin PCB cheap capacitor crap software garbage ... I have no patience for their use of non published warranty, damaged replacement cards and charging my credit card $500...refusing to explain or justify their choices. Refusing to take back the broken card, refund my money or fix the card I sent in...all for no published reasons...and wasting 3 months of my time. If it ever happens to you...trust me, you will find a long line of people that have been subject to this same treatment. As for those who don't...I wish I was one of you!
