Unfortunately that's the point where my worries start. Seagate failed me and my customers too much.
Seagate is a good company in bringing new techs and capacities to disk drives but unfortunately their disk drives are failing a lot.

I have 2x 3TB and 2x 4TB Seagate and very happy with them but need more room!

Every single seagate disk i had failed. Also the newest.
Every other WD or hitachi disk failed.
Every single samsung hdd works perfect to this day.
Its a pitty seagate killed samung.

Yeah mine old 250GB died on me just like that but it allowed me to copy the data i give Seagate a last chance by buying 1TB model, before i even think about 6TB 🙂

Then after it release watch it cost a arm and a leg and hardly any one would be able to afford it. Tho if we need 6TB that bad, there always cheap used 1.5TB drivers you can get to off set the size being smaller during use, where 1TB became 990ish GB's. Tho I still have a seagate driver that super old that still work's I wouldn't buy any of there drives now a days. I more likey to buy WD or maxtor drives or even Samsung, If I don't buy another SSD.

Jeee some people are really just so care less it an't funny, you all do know you have 97% better chance at Hard Disk recovery then SSD and rule never ever keep all your eggs in one basket backup to extras copy across more then one drive.
I own min Conner Peripherals/Seagate drive over last 30 years as well WD and min other brands and have say WD/IBM is by far the worst at reliable .
Samsung sold it old of school drive tech in fav SSD for the higher profit merges ops look like they fail again at that.
Hitachi are most reliable out all drive but they are going cost you, petty expensive for them.
Personally I think some of reliability problem are due shipping and other things.
Just look at Backblaze article P.S. don't waste your time looking at statistical results with Western Digital, Toshiba, Samsung in the mixing it less then 10% Number
of Drives vs Hitachi/Seagate as the measure don't add up in real reliability. and yes it true the same model line 1.5/3TB Seagate was a major joke the why it got dump.

Weirdly the exact opposite happened with me, every drive I've had, Samsung, WD, Seagate etc, the only ones that are still running fine in my machine are the Seagates, all the other models have failed over the years, but not one Seagate has died yet

I have a External hard drive that I use for backing up data that is important to me. I always used backup's. I really don't feel like loosing data tho i wouldn't mind having a 1.5TB + drive in it. I would never place a SSD in a External drive because the cost is too great for the size, but when i mention SSD I meant for another game drive for installing games on as the current 240GB I use now is for both os and games, not for storing backups.

No way would I buy a seagate or maxtor product. Their failure rate is too high. Now if Hitachi or Western Digital made a 6gb drive I'd get one.

Really starting to think HDD's in pre-built systems are lesser quality batches then those bought seperately in retail :3eyes:

You people are scaring me sayin' Seagate drives crash. Nearly all my drives aside from my SSD are from Seagate, I'm still using all my old ones in my PC for storage.
