Who the heck is VTX3D ? ^ Never mind, they are a subsidiary of TUL Corporation which also owns Powercolor. 🤓

yep... VTX 3D offers nice cards good chunk lower in price (10% to 15% lower) than other brands like Asus, MSI, GigaByte, EVGA... Quality, cooling and OC capability of their X-EDITION cards is often very nice and from my personal experience their cards can be a very good choice if you can't stretch your budget for another 10%, 15% to buy something more branded. Their non-X-EDITION cards are OK, nothing more, also talking about mine personal experience with them, but in their non-X-EDITION series also can be found jewels capable for nice OC.

Seems to me a little misinformation on the name, trying to sell a 290 as 290X with this 290 X-Edition... didn't check the specification myself but seems to me.

VTX 3D has their standard R9 290 and R9 290X cards with reference AMD cooler, but their top X-EDITION series R9 290 and R9 290X cards are using non-reference cooler. So... VTX 3D R9 290 VTX 3D R9 290X VTX 3D R9 290 X-EDITION VTX 3D R9 290X X-EDITION ...are different cards. I know it can be little confusing for someone who's not used to VTX 3D cards namig, X-EDITION at the end stands for their top-notch cards. By the way most of their reference-cooled R9 290 are well known for flashing to R9 290X and voltage unlocking but most of people here already know that.

@CrazY_Milojko, I checked their website, they already used this name in previous cards, and the card boxes are clearly identified, only an online buyer can be misinformed if they only check the name of the product, they should change this for something else.

OK, I got your point, but diference in naming still exist, newer non-reference cooled cards have V2 at the end of the name, also their part number is different: (older reference cooled) X-Edition VTX3D R9 290 4GB GDDR5 part number: VXR9 290 4GBD5-MDHX (newer model, non-reference cooled) X-Edition VTX3D R9 290 4GB GDDR5 V2 part number: VXR9 290 4GBD5-DHX (older reference cooled) X-Edition VTX3D R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 part number: VXR9 290X 4GBD5-MDHX (newer model, non-reference cooled) X-Edition VTX3D R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 V2 part number: VXR9 290X 4GBD5-DHX If you check part number on package box or card PCB before buying there is no place for mistake.

The (newer model, non-reference cooled) X-Edition VTX3D R9 290 4GB GDDR5 V2 part number: VXR9 290 4GBD5-DHX Looks like this 🙂 imgur.com/HNJBo8b imgur.com/BBX6ypH

I owned a VTX card before my MSI and it was a bit of a nightmare. It wasn't stable at the clocks out of the box, and the cooler didn't feel very secure and the card flexed. Certainly pointed in the direction of the lower pricing. Maybe I got a lemon though?
