So it basically turns an SSD into a thumb drive limited by USB3?

Still be pretty fast then. Don't know if for the cost of the enclosure + the SSD if it would be more cost effective than a similar size flash drive that performs as fast, but it might be judging by the prices of fast performing flash drives.
