I assume these use the same LG panel as the new LG 27GL850. I think the LG one is a bit cheaper, but without the RGB stuff.

Nano IPS, means great colours and terrible contrast ratio. Although 550nits is brighter than the average "HDR" monitor.

It been long time since I owned Viewsonic Monitor, Think last one I had was one there High end CRT back in the day, sadly I no longer have it.
1ms for IPS is acceptable to me well as far as lcd/led response times go anyway, but there contrast and uniformity is still turn off for me.
normal IPS has horrid contrast why would "Nano" be any better?

The XG270QG is interesting but should have enabled HDR support. Even though it doesn't get super bright the 98 percent dci-p3 would result in some pretty colours in HDR!
Apparently nano IPS is an extra layer in the panel that actually helps with contrast?

There is a detailed review of the XG270QG on YouTube (I think the channel is called PC Monitors) apparently it's gen 1 G-SYNC with limitations like inability to use 10-bit colour and strobing when G-SYNC is enabled and the LG actually handles lower refresh rate better despite not having the G-SYNC module IIRC.
Was willing to spend the money to get this monitor until I saw that review so instead bought the LG 27GL850 (which I should hopefully receive today); should be a nice upgrade coming from an almost 10 year old Dell U2711 monitor.
