Uhm.. everyone is happy for 4K@120hz screens.. Anyone for a second thought.. OH ****.. 2nd/3rd Gen VR @4K + 120hz.. Think about it for a moment. DX12/Vulkan + 4K + 120Hz = Perfect VR experience. so you need 1 DP 1.4 + 1 USB3.1 = GG AMD is quick to adapt, may see 1.4 sooner than later from AMD while nVidia will be sticking to HDMI 2.0
Perfect is a strong word, it will definitely be better, not perfect, need like 8K maybe even 16K for perfect. Also I don't see why Nvidia wouldn't adopt 1.4. It's not like it costs them anything.

So I wonder how long before we start seeing 120Hz UHD/4k monitors. OLED and IPS I mean, with 5ms or below response rate. :bang:
There already is one and it costs 5K$ that sweet OLED Dell monitor!

It does look nice, but even if it came down to ~$1000 I probably wouldn't buy it until they proved to me that the OLED image retention issues are solved. I know it has pixel shifting technology, so did most Plasmas, and yet those still had problems. Until one of the major manufacturers come out and specifically says "it's solved" I'm going to wait 3-4 years before users to complain that their monitor is burned in before I actually drop the money on one.

Nice. now true 10-bit R10G10B10 - or better - @ 120Hz please. I repat myself: R10G10B10 or better... R11-G11-B10 anyone? , not that crap called YCbCr. Yes I want absolute color space only, I am tired of compromises.
It's even lossy conversion of YCbCr, how could they let this standard to be official, i don't know. Maybe because 8k won't be mainstream for a long time.

If the retention works as well as on my 2011 samsung plasma there should be no issues. No burned image no issues. Even with static image being displayed for some hours.

Sheez, I only just moved to 4k and will be here for a while. It is like I only just recently started using usb 3 devices and only once usb 3.1 had already been released. Guess I am just slow on spending money if I do not need to. However, 8k gaming would be epic.
