Good that they updated message, and ti clearly states affected HW, but... "Microsoft has temporarily paused the Windows 10 April 2010 Update..." :D

no problems here with a 600p 128GB SSD. saw a few comments on a different forum from people with 600p SSDs who also had no problems. -andy-

Funny that it happens to 600 series, the most useless and slowest series EVER, although back in the day offered the cheapest 1TB NVMe drive that was tad faster then SATA in writes and reads, but just a bit.

Well installation on 545s went fine, guess the 600 series need either a firmware fix or M$ to patch Win10.

I guess it's the standard AHCI driver with issues. If it worked on past versions, it's probably ms being ms again.

MS are not being too truthful about these issue's,for instance i have 2 systems and neither have any SSD's and yet they are hit with the black screen of death caused by the 1803 update and many other people in my country anyway have the same issue. At work i have 10 systems and each machine is down for the same reason and no SSD's on there either so it's MS just being MS again and yes they have disabled the update, i lost a fair amount of productivity and sent my work force home on friday so here's hoping to do a fix pretty quick so for now you have to downgrade to 1709.

I don't know if that may be helpful for someone, but if you set your network connection to "metered connection" (like a dialup where you have to pay per minute), Windows Update does NOT download anything, it behaves like older OS and ASKS you (yes, I did not believe it until I saw it!!) if you WANT to install any update (like "Search for updates but let me choose when to install them."). You still have no option to select specific updates, but at least nothing gets downloaded without your consent. Another method I can think of (I haven't tried it yet because the other option mentioned above is enough for me right now) could be: Any Windows upgrade seems to create a new folder in C:\ called something like "$WINDOWS.~BT". It is a hidden folder, you have to make it visible in folder options first. All upgrade files go into this folder. There are a few accounts on your system which may install stuff: TRUSTEDINSTALLER, SYSTEM, etc. Simply DENY them access to this folder. If not already present because of previous upgrades, CREATE one with exactly this name:

$WINDOWS.~BT

Rightclick on the folder, choose "Properties" and go to tab "Security". Click EDIT to change the options. Remove EVERYTHING listed there, EXCEPT your own username. If your username is not there, add it as the only entry. Give your username FULL ACCESS to this folder. You may want to revert those changes (= simply delete the folder) when you want to do the upgrade in the near future. If you disable ALL access ... you are not able to revert! (= Access denied!) Apply all changes. Then Windows Update will (my assumption) throw up an error if it tries to download or install the 1803 upgrade. But other updates SHOULD (please test!) install, because they do not touch this folder, instead go to SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION folder under C:\Windows\ . Again: I have not tested this method yet. If you try this, DO NOT forget to include your own username with FULL ACCESS in the security settings! DO NOT apply before this is 100% done, or you will be locked out of this folder forever!! (Or at least until you do a fresh install of Windows 10!) To revert: Simply delete the folder $WINDOWS.~BT and re-run Windows Update. It will be re-created with its original security settings.
