Nice, AMD has been on the up and up since they dropped Global Foundries because they didn't want to compete on newer nodes. I know they still use them in other areas, but not on their main dies. TSMC is just so much a better company. They just need to sort out there capacity. The whole world just needs more. 😀

Scary thought: What if Apple were to buy TSMC? .... i mean according to this they already own more then a quarter of the company, effectively.....

I'm honestly surprised to see MediaTek so high up there. I have a hard time believing they have enough demand to outpace Epyc. Though, I also haven't heard of MediaTek having shortage issues, so, maybe they just bargained hard.

I just wonder with Xilinx on board (which is almost a certainty) would AMD become TSMC's No. 2 customer?!

I don't think regulators would allow the purchase.

Apple could easily buy TSMC with some spare money they have lying around but they don´w want to own a foundry the same way they don´t want to buy Foxconn. They prefer to subcontract production than to buy, it saves them the hassle of running those types of businesses.
