I am not one to get political here, but how is this a threat to national security?
We actually have issues that are real threats to national security that have actually happened in the past few months, real events where people lost their lives.

They (US gov)have spoken the truth: the chinese company Huawei is lead by a former military of red PeopleLibArmy.
Thats why Huawei and ZTE dont have the official right to sell phones on USA market.
"Chinese manufacturer Huawei was expected to announce a partnership with AT&T to distribute its devices in the US. But the telecoms carrier has called off the deal at the last minute.
You can already buy unlocked Huawei devices online and in some retail stores in the US, so itโs likely that the Mate 10 Pro will also be made available. But a carrier deal would have helped push the company's products in the States.
Despite being the third-largest smartphone manufacturer behind Samsung and Apple, Huawei has struggled to make a big impact in the US. This is partly due to a 2012 House Intelligence Committee report that warned carriers not to do deals with the firm because of the influence China has over it, which could pose a threat to US security."
Better keep the eggs in your basket, than sell it to a foreign "enemy" company. And indeed chinese is on the offensive wave, they buy everything.Because they can, they have a lot of money from their cheap exports.

Every gov try to protect their goods in these days.
Btw:
"Chinese national pleads guilty to selling over 40,000 fake Apple products in the US
He made $1.1 million from selling the counterfeit goods."

Smart move by Trump....imagine if intel were to takeover AMD's cpu division and Nvidia took over its graphics card division ...Not Good.

Lets see all of our jets, helicopters, planes, air craft carriers, missiles, communication equipment, etc all use memory. And you would then have to buy it and rely on memory produced by a potential enemy. UH this is a national security concern. I will say it is a bit of a slap in the face for Broadcom though, back in Nov of 2017 Hock Tan went on tv with the president and said he was moving his legal h.q. back to the U.S. because of President Trumps tax plan. Ouch.

5G mobile is coming soon. Trump wants to keep China from getting the edge on it. Not sure it's something that can be stopped.

At last the United States of America has a PRESIDENT that understands business and business decisions MUST be controlled via scrutiny and government regulation. The only answer is the far reaching control of the FEDERAL government; the people cannot have the power. Qualcomm is headquartered in San Diego and Broadcom Limited is co-headquarted in San Jose and Singapore. These companies will bow to President Trump, a man who understands intense business regulation is the way to keep us safe! In other national security news President Trump just pardoned a guy who took his phone into the missile control room of a nuclear submarine and took pictures of the missiles, warheads, computers, and controls and sent them to family via private message on facebook just before losing the phone.

I don't understand this post.
it's like:
"Pro Trump!
Pro Government!
Pro Regulations!"
Whereas reality, Trump is anti-government and most definitely anti-regulations.
I'm not trying to get into politics here, though i believe this post was inevitable and will probably be locked at some point due to politics simply guaranteed to come up in a post about Trump, but seriously, do you not pay attention to what trump does?
He believes that the government needs to have less regulations and less involvement in business', but more in individual peoples rights, so really your entire post makes zero sense.

The notion that Trump has any clue about these chip-makers nor their implications to National Security is 0. Trump is a blithering idiot.
That said, I have no issue with this move. I also think America is a bigger threat to the world than China.
