If your definition of a "blithering idiot" is based on who is hiding information, that would not make Trump less of one. I say this not to undermine Trump but to neutralize who is seen as the more horrible human being. All that being said, though I'm not a moderator, I think everyone will agree it is within our interest that we not derail this thread into a political debate, so, let's keep the biases to a minimum, eh?

The action was taken in the interest of national security and "American industry". It doesn't matter whether the person who made the final call has any clue or not. What matters is that the proper call was made. Keep in mind, most of the people running the US Gov't can barely turn on a computer, much less comprehend what does and doesn't constitute a true national security concern.

"Show me the money." Meaning someone should investigate Trump's assets and how he's personally linked to Qualcomm. If there's a money trail, then this has nothing to do with national security and is just a business decision by Trump, using his position as president to do it.

Sounds like you're looking at it from the point of "Doing the right thing, for the wrong reason"....which I can agree with. I mean, when you consider the fact that he never divested from his own businesses when taking office and uses resorts he owns to line his own pocket with tax payer money nearly every weekend. The US President is not supposed to maintain any stock or personal business ventures while in office. Doesn't mean he didn't act in the interest of friends or family though. It is a bit fishy but lets be honest here...a lot of fishy things have taken place over the last year.
