yeah...exactly what humanity needed the most: a new top gun movie with an older Tom Cruise....
I bet goose is not happy about this.
My mother was crazy about this movie back in the 80's - 90's. Her trifecta was: "top gun", "ghost" and "pretty woman".
She used to punish my father, me and my brother into "movie nights" with this...bad memories come back again.
We just wanted to play super mario on tv but no! let's watch again that cool guy on the motorcycle.

i started getting brassed of with sequels after terminator 3 and all that later alien crap. dont get me started on superhero movies. the only decent one was Logan

Top Gun was an awesome movie! When I was 8 yrs old. Going back and watching it now as an adult, I think Honest Trailers sums it up best.

well, since they have shown mainly the Navy and aircraft carriers, I would be guessing most of the planes are the F-18s...16s and 22s normally are NOT navy or carrier bound planes. You have a good point for the F-35s...but they suck and have not really rolled out fully or been widely accepted.

despite the fact that my army flies F-18 too, they are old a bit disappointed that they didn't use the movie as an opportunity to showcase more recent planes
I would have taken 20 years old plane, fa18 are 41 years old if you didn't know

Those are F-18 E/F Super Hornets. The Navy has never used and will never use the F-16 or the F-22. The F-35 is a joke, useless in a dogfight, a Top Gun pilot wouldn't caught dead flying one.
