I have resigned myself to the idea that the big game companies only wish to turn a profit. So instead of just making the best game they can with some sort of passion all they will do is a calculation of X dollars put in will get us Y dollars out. Does not matter if the game is good, mediocre or plain bad. So long as they flip it for a profit that is all that matters. Contrast this with indie studios that actually attempt to just make the best game they can.

The big companies rarely miss an opportunity to virtue signal. It's really nothing more than pandering. I have seen companies pander in multiple directions it's just what they do. IE Black Rifle Coffee.

Not sure why its become a fad to state that in forums. When gameplay is no longer a critera, but political or social overtones are the deciding factor that makes or breaks a game for some. 🙄

Both new games coming out soon are also looking really good. I'm not a huge fan of lego games but the Skywalker Saga looks amazing as does the video of Star Wars Eclipse. There's so much potential now with so many new game engines and RT.

It's only the past few years that it's becoming an issue to the point people are legitimately sick of seeing it, prior to that video games were just that.. video games, now a lot of the time they are used as a means of virtue signaling.. which most of the time ends with people OF ANY GENDER OR NATIONALITY not liking the product... which at the end of the day is the aim of the game, make money by selling things people enjoy. We see this also in movies, funnily enough this being a Star Wars related thread I can mention the Disney Star Wars Trilogy which was not received well by long time Star Wars fans because of virtue signaling. Thankfully with the newer tv series, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett for example Disney have realized.. ohh people didn't like what we did with the trilogy lets try making Star Wars stuff that is fun for everyone. [spoiler]I'm loving the Book of Boba Fett btw... just seeing Slave 1 again was so cool.. that's the coolest star wars space ship in my opinion[/spoiler] That's a real spoiler, in case anyone plans to watch the book of boba fett and don't want any surprises as a boba fett fan.
