$400 for 12C/24T. OMG! So what's coming for this price to fit into global pricing plan? Did intel install safety nets around their buildings?

1920X for about £349 in the UK, that's stunning value really. And you can upgrade to the 2nd gen Threadripper when they come down eventually (and they will) 🙂

Honestly. If I had use for it... I would just do with it same thing I did with 2400G. Limit clock to 3,6GHz (10% sacrifice on max clock), downvolt and laugh at power consumption. I still can't wrap my head around it. I run 2400G with 240Hz and 120Hz screens. Playing 1080p video and APU eats 10W. On main desktop, GPU needs to raise clock for those screens and with playback, GPU eats 45W and CPU 30W. Unless I am playing demanding games, I am using APU.

Amazon had the TR 1920X for €372 for a short period a couple/few weeks ago. Talk about tempting!

Dang, that 1920x... it'll sell like hotcakes ! This is the price that Shintel asked for Krappylake 4 cores less than 2 years ago.

I know the 1920X has generally got the least attention from everyone but damn... that's a hefty price cut.

To put in perspective in UK the 1920X (£349- Scan UK) looks like a bargain considering the 8700K varies between £320-£400. On the other hand 2700X is £280 and 2700 is £250 on Amazon this weekend and look like real bargains for mainstream.

They were going to, but then decided to save a few cents per building by installing cheap thermal compound instead. Turns out it doesn't work very well.

I would care if ddr4 memory wasn't at crazy prices.
