Great going Intel, totally unenecessary and unwanted plastic waste.

I bet this plastic makes extra 50-100€ premium 😛

I do like how the package looks like, but that is so much wasted space on shipping. Taking so much just plain air space... As shipping is also issue atm, why do this as this would just increase the retail cost of products.

you can spot them whiny AMD fanboys from a mile away....

Looks nice but will it blend?

This is less of a waste of space and shipping load compared to the near-useless stock heatsinks Intel would provide in lower-end models. This packaging does actually look kinda cool.

Its odd how much effort Intel and AMD spend on making pretty boxes.

While I've previously really liked some of the older boxes from the Threadripper and even the 9900K etc, the plastic waste does seem a little out of place nowadays. Consequently I really quite like the current ones that come in a plain cardboard box.

Have you seen how Amazon packages items for shipping? Shipping companies won't know the difference. Last thing I ordered from Amazon came in a box big enough to hold a few dozen of the item I ordered.... Hell, when I ordered my current wifi card, it came in a 24" x 24" x 24" box.....

I like the package - it's something new and it looks cool. De gustibus non est disputandum.

Packaging never been something i really cared about gpus or cpus ... If it works as intented i will take em even in a bit of bubble wrap and some tape 😛

So much wasted material... Same goes for that bulky threadripper packaging!

I prefer simple packages instead of elaborated ones but that´s me.

I'm glad to see that Intel chose to be creative (and elaborate) with this packaging. It reveals that they take great pride in this product.

the funny thing is the packaging for CPUs are legacy. Intel does sell in bulk with sensible packaging. but individual retail CPUs are packaged in bulky boxes for security because back-in-the-day retail would have these hanging on a pegboard. this anti-loss provision was to make the outlines visible through clothing. funny thing is most retailers had them behind glass or in the back stockroom. old habits die hard just like Bruce Willis.
