Stupid EA. This feature is going to get abused real fast. Beat the game within the first 24 hrs, then ask for a refund.
seems legit 🙄

Steam has this policy with preordered games. I got a refund for duke nukem forever.

Very interesting, and a very good idea that the digital gaming world needs when it comes to PC's.
It will stop people wasting money on a game they can't really play on their system, might even cut down on piracy as many will download a game before they buy it to see if it performs ok.
There are also occasions where a few hours into a game you just know you have wasted your money, knowing i can get a refund now might actually make me buy more games.
So looking at it that way i can see how this might work out better for EA in the long run if other people think like i do.
I'm sure EA are aware this will probably be abused though, while i probably couldn't as i can't game anymore than 2-3 hours in one sitting, lots of people will be able to finish the game in one go then just ask for a refund.
It will also make EA spend more time and money making sure the game is not buggy on Day1, but it will also mean more people will be tempted to buy from them direct and not from cd-key sites or retail shops which might be one of the main reasons for introducing such a feature.

I think this is good, certainly better than Steam. Atleast if you buy agame and its broken then you can get a refund. Look at how bad MK9 was with its broken MP and Steam are very reluctant to give a refund even though they know the game is broken. My respect for Steam has gone down tbh and i will not be buying as much on here as i used too.

I remember back in the day every Game had a Demo you could try. Nowdays developers expect you do buy everything and like it.

In Steams defence (and I don't say that very often) they don't really have the final say on refunds as they mostly sell other people's games, so if someone wants a refund and the publisher says no then Valve need to also say no or pay the money out their own pocket.
I'm sure Valve will have a fair amount of bargaining power though.
I just realised the 7 day refund thing could be handy as well, you might not play it but bad user reviews could make you reconsider.
This new policy does make me more likely to buy direct from EA now, something I rarely do, so this policy should be good for the consumer and potentially more profitable for EA.

I wonder if you can:
Buy a game
Play it
Get a refund
Buy it again
Carry on playing it
Get a refund
etc
etc
This way you can complete it over a longer period of time but never be out of pocket.
Someone needs to test this lol

I think it'll be a good decision in the long run.
It would be also nice if they fixed their billing center for Central Europe - me and several of my friends are crewed and our payments are denied. They blame bank, but banks get no info, tried several accounts, cards, even PayPal; more - even free stuff returns info that payment was denied. I heard some people managed to get a fix, but mail support over here is terrible, and phone... even worse.

I am pleasently surprised.
First the end of the online pass and now this, looks like EA is trying really hard to change their image and reputation after John Reticello's departure.
Dare one actually hope that EA games will also mean quality games in the future?
Only time will tell.

My only issue with this....as it really is a good move by EA....is that 8 other markets will only get this "by the end of September"... Why couldn't this be implemented in every market they serve on day 1? That's just that much more time that people in those markets have to get ripped off buying a ****ty game.
Wish they had this policy a few years ago....
They're probably trying to get away from that title they won....lol

What Valve needs to do, Steam sucks.
