It's enthusiast grade cpu. Why lolz?

Good question, this is a binned edition of the fastest processor out there at the moment.... it seems really cheap compared to an enthusiast graphics card such as the 3060... cough ... Considering the price of DDR5 and the latest Z690 top end motherboards this seems like the cheap part to buy .... of your ultimate rig if you go that way. Looking forward to reviews.

back in my day I would buy the lower end model and run it as if it were the enthusiast model thus saving that enthusiast money. Sadly video cards don't work that way.

Lol $750 ROFL
It will probably cost even more than that.

It's the top cpu and it's cheaper than midrange gpu. Everything seems ok

That's how skewed it has all got. Back in the day https://www.edn.com/intel-launches-999-64-bit-pentium-4/ With inflation that is $1500. For Netburst achitecture. They actually released Conroe a bit later and the Core 2 Extreme X6800 was still the $1 less than $1000. That was a far better chip of course against AMD K7 and K8. We all bought the E6700 or E6600 and overclocked them from 2.5Ghz to 4Ghz plus. The good old days when you could get a 33% overclock... No longer obviously. But considering the Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 in 2006 cost $999 the new 12900KS costing $750 is pretty cheap. Note that back when the top Core2 was released at $999 the top nvidia card was the 7900 / 7950GX2 at about $500 to $600 so 2/3 the price of the top intel cpu. A $750 ultra premium Intel Cpu in 2022 looks pretty good bang per buck given all the above.

The lolz from me would be because this chip is advertised with a all core that is as high as the max clock Buildzoid would recommend on a daily driver 12900k, with E cores turned off. He was not able to cool it at higher clocks then that, with a 360 rad hitting 100 degrees with LM between heatspreader and waterblock, so if the single core goes to 5.5 and added heat from the E cores, there better be some binning magic going on here. For professional workload, this thing is going to cook and for gaming it is going to be 0-5% faster then a 12700k with DDR4 3600-4000 mem.

I have had a couple of 12900K that can run 5500Mhz all core.Truth is they are no faster than normal default settings on 12900K in everyday task and PC Gaming.Since there are so twisted people in forums, who like bragging about PC Games at 720p lowest setting with RTX 3090 and 12900K you can get a couple FPS more in some games.

why wasn't the 12900KF listed? and why on earth would anyone buy @ this price point with an iGPU? if you buy this you've got to be rocking a 3o80/90/ti or 6900/6800xt

Back in my days you could buy a cheap celeron or duron cpu and use a 5 cents graphite pencil to unlock it without paying the premium price...a lot of things were simpler back in the days...now everything is $$$.

This is the top of the line intel chip. MSRP of 750$ seems ok to me. Also compared to the 5950X from AMD. People which this chip is aimed for, also pay 3k for a gpu. While GPU and Motherboard prices went to the roof, CPU prices are ok.

In real-terms this is cheaper than a Pentium 4 EE 3.2ghz. And that was a piece of crap.

regular 12900K automatic oc by asus-ai bios thus the voltages but it's stable like that (and it retains the stock flexibility if I really don't do anything on the desktop it's at 13w) maybe they managed to make them cooler or something only 3 cores can reach that but ive seen them at that speed ingame but only for older games that don't handle multicore well and use like 4 threads max

The wattage on the wall will be insane!

This would probably be a good emulator CPU IF a PS4 or XBOX emulator is working to play exclusives in lieu of being able to buy a PS5 or new XBOX for example. I just wonder if it can really HOLD 5.5 GHZ sustained for long work loads... I need to see a review to believe it. Someone should do a 4 -8 hour loop of cinebench on it with the best cooling and video it as proof.

This is going to look real dumb if it's outperformed or matched by the 5800X3D, the bad news is that this thing's bloated retard price will make AMD even more bold with their bloated retard prices, particularly of the 5800X3D.

you know what is actually dumb - amd doing nothing to adress i3's which get close to 5600x and have no amd counterpart under 150eur,same as they did nothing about 12400 instead they promise to release halo products like 5800x 3d 12900kfc edition is nothing compared to how dumb that is,100eur intel vs 280eur amd https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i3-12100f/17.html for me amd not dropping msrp for r5000 is even worse news than the fact they launched at high prices,it means they want to keep ryzens at premium prices no matter what happens. same thing as reported about nvidia wanting to keep retail prices high to sell the next generation the same.
