We have no idea what they have done to better the performance, or how bf5 with raytracing will perform if all other settings are not at the highest. Ray tracing can make even the worst settings look amazing.

I am trying to understand your post? Why do you point to a GTX 1070 and Raytracing? The article mentioned RTX 2070, not GTX 1070.

It'll be really interesting how much of an impact DXR/RTX has on the performance in BFV. We've only ever seen a wiff of numbers from Tomb Raider, which used it for Lighting and Shadows, while BF uses it for Reflections. A "recommended for DXR" spec should be at least for 1080p shouldn't it? So if they recommend a 2070, my 2080 Ti should be able to make use of it on 1440p at least? I wonder.

2070 can still do it. As written before. 60fps on RTX 2080Ti was before they found some optimization which improved it by 30%. And as they stated IQ in showcases was bumped up above target, so final game will likely look bit worse.

Cancelled my deluxe pre-order this morning, £15 extra for a couple of days earlier play which is still around a week later than release and a couple of skins just didn't seem a great deal. I'll be getting the basic version when it comes out.
