maybe once you have more than "5" people using it, and it goes for half the price they sell it now, im interested. why would i pay the same amount of money to get it from tesla, when i have companies like APC doing this stuff for decades incl commercial/military application?

Cause APC makes makes lead-acid non-spillable batteries which time to time leak a bit? Or use cheap electromagnetic switching relays which fail in 4 years even when they have specifications twice as high as load they carry? My next UPS will not be from APC but from FSP. And btw. capacity/price is not bad at all.

On the radio this morning, I heard that it would be sold as a unit to charge up during non-peak hours and then be used during peak-hours in order to reduce your power bill.

For the asking price (not even adding the cost of solar panels and installation), I can pay my power bills for the next ~4 years. I was fooled once 10 years ago when they sold me natural gas system for the car, it was supposed to save me a lot of money on gas and pay for itself within 3 to 4 years. What happened is that natural gas price went up in price every month and ended up not saving me anything and never paying of.

yea I know but they will find a way to make more money off of it. They will introduce tax or mandatory licenses and checks, permits and $hit. Anyway, like I said, the cost is ridiculous. I pay like 30$ for electricity bill per month and even if I wanted solar, there are much cheaper solutions. Cheaper enough to replace parts when they expire or break. I can get like a half a megawatt setup with installation for under a 1000$ here in Serbia.

@Fox2232 not sure if your talking about the larger units. they dont use lead on all systems. and i never had any problems on the systems we had in the store i worked for 5y (~50 workstations + server room/TK/IP protected).
