Steam has so many sales, it's all good I suppose...... Does feel like it's becoming a marketing ploy by having high prices during normal times, just so they can generate more interested from marketing yet another sale!

Clearly Steam is scrabbling to make sure they don't just have most of the money but instead have ALL the money... lunar new year sale, for f*ck sake!

Is Steam allowed in China? If it is, then this would make perfect sense. Although that being said, China is such a huge market it could have had its own sales all along, separate from the rest of the world.

Well China seems to be a big market so it's hardly surprising.

Peeps tend to associate Chinese/Lunar New Year with just China. In various parts of Asia, where there is are large Chinese Communities, Lunar New Year is a big deal (much like the 4th of July or Christmas is to Americans). Heck, in my neck of the woods, we have two days of public holiday where even some malls or department stores close as they lack the staff to stay open during the two days.

Yup here in Taiwan the lunar new year is just as big of a deal as it is in China.
