Money well spend banning DLSS, and now the game is long dead.

Nvidia onlyfans will never pardon that.

Imagine Starfield goes the same route as Cyber Punk, in three years they patch it and it turns into an awesome game.

Except most of starfield quests are copy&paste, basically 1-2 side-quests paths have some lore, everything else, including main quest, is super boring. For sure Starfield can be better optimised, has tons of quests bugs (typical bethesda), but technically has nothing to do with CP2077, from audio to graphics.

I explored all planets, hoping to find always something lil unique. After a few (less than ten) I realised all structures are literally the same, even on the same planed, not even some procedural generation, all random quests point in the same way to same stuffs, planet physx if imagined and designed by a drunk 5th grade primary school would be better and more realsitic, all ships have the same mechanics, world is literally empty, included the biggest cities, fauna and flora are literally the same reskins, sometimes just changing the colour of diffuse texture atlas. the main quest is flat and repetitive and for a good part is composed by copy&paste missions.

I would honestly be amazed. (but I'm biased, I enjoyed CP2077 since day one)

I think you misunderstood, completely, I'm not comparing the games looks or even content, but rather that CP2077 was poor for a significant period up until the 2.0 patch then it became awesome. Maybe the same fate awaits Starfield, I'm now assuming you haven't played CP in either its current or previous forms.

I think that`s a little exaggerated. CP was a great game since the beginning, the problems were that the game was released too soon, like most games nowadays, and specially because CDR hyped the game to the moon, only for players to find out that they exaggerated or lied about many stuff on the game... 2.0 just added more a few more features and polish to the game, but it didn`t transformed the game or anything like that. The problem with Starfield is that the game is not that good, so a few patches aren`t going to change much. They need to greatly reformulate the game and i don`t know if Bethesda wants to spend the time and money to do it...

I suppose the FSR 3 addition provides an excuse to load this dreary excuse of a game 'for science.' However, I wasn't really having any issues running it previously, so I'm already kind of talking myself out of doing even that. "They value your feedback in this Beta phase—it's crucial for polishing the final update. So, as you explore these new features, Bethesda love to hear about your experiences to help make Starfield even better." OK, I'll give Bethesda some credit for not just turning out the lights, locking the doors and slipping away into the night. But this game needs a thousand things more desperately than it needs another upscaler.

Played Starfield for 100+ hours but stopped playing when another game showed up,think it was Avatar or something. Lost my original saves ,not sure if I want to start new again, maybe FSR3 might get me to do it.

If they changed the engine completely, perhaps it would have a chance - but even then, I feel the lack of content would become even more apparent. If they cannot change the engine, then surely they can rewrite their entire shader language; because using SM4 (I ran the game through nvidia dev tools to check) is as old as Windows Vista.

Still unplayable for me because you can't disable camera shake. Getting nauseous after several minutes of gameplay. Had the same issue with CP2077, but after I disabled all shake effects, I had no issues whatsoever.

Starfield has the lowest Steam rating for a Bethesda game and is having less concurrent players than Fallout 4 and Skyrim LMAO. Making the same game (Skyrim in space) after a decade is probably not a good idea, gamers have a lot more better games to play nowadays...

That would mean starting from scratch and do everything again, i don`t think any studio has ever done something similar after releasing a game.

I don't think so either, but maybe they just leave it on life support for a few years.....?

If only the game had a more structured focus on a compelling single player experience centered around a few solar systems with around 40-50 planets and moons. The game could have been great, and have had a more fleshed out world with more time being spent on each planet. They could have had more time to add in coop or a multiplayer mode. After my 12th loading screen for 1 mission I knew the game was a dud.

Brave souls like you who posted about their struggle saved me from buying this game. Thank you for your service.

I still haven`t played the game but surely there`s (plenty) of room for improvement, there are many things that can be changed without a new engine. The big question is how much is Bethesda is invested in game considering the long run...
