The Enterprise still has too many lens flares, I expected Kirk and Spock lite to pull out lightsabers and what planet were those shots in?! Earth? Coruscant? It's very close to other Star's art work. They're definitely going for a new audience but I'll still watch it anyway :P

Trying to do Kirk et al was a mistake. Move the franchise on, do something new. Kirk is Shatner. Spock is Nimoy! Star Trek needs a new direction.

I liked the last Star Trek movie....and I've never been a fan of the "franchise"... Now, the A-Team I loved as a kid.....but I think the movie remake completely ruined it beyond repair.
The last Star Trek movie was an attempt to reboot the "franchise" and take it in a different direction....sort of like, showing where it could have gone if events had happened differently.

its STAR TREK why ( at least from the trailer ) set it mostly on uninteresting earth, that coupled with the rip off Batman terrorist story for me seems like an opportunity lost, lets see........but its missing the whole point of STAR TREK!!!!!!

Wait until you see what they might dream up for a re-vamped Stargate-SG1 series, then!

Original star trek fans didn't like the last movie because it doesn't this star trek atmosphere, and chances are they wouldn't like this new one also.
Meanwhile the ones who never liked the original star trek liked the last movies because it is a good action movie, and they have no expectation about how a star trek movie should be.

So what even happened to Star Trek? Because so far the last two movies (this and the previous) have had at least half of their time dealing with Earth or problems to Earth... Don't we have enough franchises that can deal with that?
It's the same thing that ruined Stargate: Universe.
