The price will increase because its Christmas time and the money will flow all over the world. 🙂 In January-Feb 2017 the prices will go down.

I wish 8tb m.2 was available from Samsung. I'd even settle for a 4tb, but when will that be, 2018?
You do know you can get a 2TB but that set you back a cool $1300 dollar one can only guest what a consumer ver 4TB would cost but if I had guest I say about same or tab bit more, What wrong with a reg sata drive you do know you can get 4TB in a 2.5 drive for just under $1400 dollar. I don't think your going to see a 8TB and time soon as a consumer products even right now if where make it would need 16 NAND Packages as of right now which not going to work on M.2 card, they going have boasts a cutting-edge 48-layer 40 NAND*to 4th gen 64-layer 32 NAND but even then you need a longer form factor card of 114mm for 8TB so do keep in mind this for typical enterprise only so 4TB is more likely to show up so I don't think we will see mainstream consumer 8TB products any time soon maybe the 5th gen 80-layer 24 NAND but I could be wrong we just have wait and see.

Simple Question, 2TB 850 Evo cost £550 Unopened, keep or return for full refund ? The alternative being to pick up lower capacity drives over time for a lesser total price.

I think I'm going to return it, it's a lot of money for something that I don't desperately need and that isn't going to give me any performance increase. Currently I have 6 sata ports as follows 850 EVO 500GB Dual boot system drive 850 EVO 500GB 850 PRO 500GB 3TB HDD 3TB HDD DVD Drive I'm sure the £550 could be put to better use on something else.

Predictions Were Right ;( I was looking to buy another SAMSUNG SSD and I was shocked by the price increase. I did a search and found this thread. I bought Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD on December 1st, 2016 for $75.99, now this SSD is $99.99. WTFHappened? The 120 GB is $95! This is 24% increase!!! Where the 5-10% predictions went to? I guess everyone in this thread who assumed it's "bull" need to take their words back! 🤓

That easy one as it was Christmas time and as rule of thumb they mark things down to sale faster any left over old stock as fast as possible before year end tax roll over.

Purchased a 500GB 850 EVO February 2016 for $147. Current Amazon price is $177. That's a 20.4% increase from same time last year. EDIT: Now only if my salary had gone up 20% from last year.

Bought a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB in March 2016 for 89 euros. Now it's 109 euros at the very same store. This is certainly some big and smelly bull. I know I won't be trying an M.2 SSD before things normalise again.

Everyone knows this is BS like the HDD "flood" prices which never went back down to normal levels. A 2TB HDD costs more now (here anyway) than the first year 2TB green/low power HDDs were released.
You said it, bro! Price fixing at its lowest. RAM, HDDs and now SSDs, it's disgraceful. What's even more disgusting, though, is that they're going to get away with it, or possibly with a slap on the wrist to keep up appearances of a fair legal system. I feel like vomiting.
