It's the PS2+3... "Shape" of the PS2, "Curves" of the PS3 I like it though, stylish and sleek.

I like both colors, though black looks way more sexy, indeed. Xsex (yes, I'm calling it for what it is) is too boring. Even pre-built PC's aren't as boring as that. Hell, even some cable boxes and routers have more interesting designs. And last gen was already an overload of VCR-like designs, it was about time something a bit less squared appeared.

I really liked it, I'd prefer a Black one though. GT7 is what I'm looking for mostly. 😀

As much as I'm not a fan of the white and black design, hoping for a all black version or this will stand out so much in my living room. Quite excited for the new technology, as others pointed out it is tall and big, cooling no point commenting on it till we see the product. Could have far beefier fans than we know inside it or maybe its watercooled who knows 😛 long as it isn't a toaster or a silly loud fan then I think it'll be okay. I'm most excited about the games coming out and the ps5 patches to existing games, hoping for some 60fps patches or improvements on games like God of war which only was able to hit 40-50. Being able to play that locked 60 would be perfect, or more if they allow it up to 120

Don't want it to stand out, I want to hide it away - I wish they'd do a fancy looking version for the catwalk and a standard hifi unit shaped version those that don't care what it looks like and just want it to fit in the same cupboards everything else goes in.

I would prefer something more simple but it´s no a deal breaker. I´m more worried about the design of the controller, i always like PS controllers because of their simplicity and size and the new seems to have lost those arguments, at least partially... Also, the fact that they still haven´t disclosed the price seems to indicate it´s going to be more expensive than expected by many.

My issue is not the console, but the pathetic lineup of games. Not one of them that I would play or feel associated with the main character. Seems PS5 is the first PS since 1998 I won't buy.

Anything with a bold styling is bound to have haters. It's either make it look conservative and inoffensive (but boring), or do something interesting for once. Considering the similarities between PS and XB, it's within the manufacturer's interest to make the product stand out as much as possible. Well, I'd argue Sony won in that regard. PS5 (especially the white one) is going to stand out in someone's living room. That's basically self-advertising.

I'm the opposite, I didn't think I'd have any interest in the new consoles but Ratchet & Clank has piqued my interest. I loved those games (at least the ones on the PS2, I never got a 3 or 4). Nostalgia aside though, yeah, slim pickings for now. I'm curious to see how well this thing cools. I'm not above gutting it and throwing it in a plywood box if it makes it cooler/quieter.

From what I've seen the 'big deal' with the PS5s SSD is not raw throughput but how the controller is handling decompression. So it might not be faster than what SSDs offer now in terms of read/write, but that's not the sort of comparison that needs to be made since the it's interacting with the system in a non-traditional way.

The majority of users haven't been running an 8000/5000 setup though, you're a minority in this regard.
