"SK hynix's DDR5 supports transfer rate of 4,800 ~ 5,600 Megabit-per-second (Mbps), which is 1.8 times faster than the previous generation - DDR4. It can transmit 9 full-HD (FHD) movies (5 GB each) per second with 5,600 Mbps transfer rate."
I think you need to review your math on that one...?

Point is how much is the latency? Would it take to the end of the lifetime like the DDR4-4266 to achieve DDR3-2133 and DDR2-1066 performance levels?

5600mhz starter kit now thats nice. I can only imagine the prices.

It's going to take a couple of years for latencies to compete with DDR4, it has always been like that. What's worse is that it's going to cost double or even more than the similar DDR4 module. Maybe that 2024 with expected 43% of DDR5 modules will be somewhat interesting year to really switch and it will likely be the time for upgrade too.
