Huge mistake leaving out the 6000/7000 HD family.

They didn't left the 7000 series out. I don't believe that the previous cards have the hardware to run it.

Well there was no DP1.2a back then, I don't see why its a mistake.

Aside from Crossfire profiles, do you really need a new driver every other week or so? =]

that is exactly what ALL crossfire users need it for. Far Cry 4 has been out for over 105 days with no crossfire profile. If you want to support such a garbage company by continuing to buy their products with garbage support, go ahead.

That's why you stick with the fastest Single GPU Card, always working from day 1 🙂

Yet no VSR signs to mention.Just freesync support for everyone.Ok i appreciate that. What about VSR?Are they screwing with us?

So now we only need to wait 5 years until 1) games that support this will be released 2) monitors that support this will be sold.

You're talking about Ubisoft, right? I'm waiting FC4 go down to US$1 to buy it and show the right respect for Ubi.

What didnt they add Freesync support at omega drivers already!?

Do we know anything about what monitors will support it, or does it work with all games? I'm so confused, we don't even have any good review or video showing clear comparisons. Also how it does against Gsync?

Now if I could get a tv to support this, that would be neat. Although actually, I could near guarantee it wouldn't work on muxless laptops.

New monitors released this year with DP 1.2a capability. It should work with any game and it should be less driver depended compared to gsync while doing the same - controlling vblank intervals.

Quote: "All AMD Radeon graphics cards in the AMD Radeon HD 7000, HD 8000, R7 or R9 Series will inevitably support Project FreeSync for video playback and power-saving purposes. The AMD Radeon R9 295X2, 290X, R9 290, R7 260X and R7 260 GPUs additionally feature updated display controllers that will support dynamic refresh rates during gaming." Why dont mention the R9 285 ???

As I recall, and that article states, it's an optional standard, so who knows how many displays will actually feature it, likely at a premium. If it was standard we could have seen a new generation of lower power displays, not sure what the additional cost per unit for this is though. But, at least it will have a logo and be clear about it.
Since Adaptive-Sync is an optional feature not every DisplayPort device will support it, so those devices that do support it will sport a logo to visibility indicate their compliance. The logo will go hand-in-hand with the VESA’s forthcoming Adaptive-Sync compliance test, so manufacturers will need to pass the test before they’re able to use the logo.

Really? How is it supposed to work then, when games have hardcoded vsync or adaptive vsync in them? Is this supposed to overwrite it somehow?
