I like the Guru3d blue. Just wait for the Intel cards HH. 🙂

the 2060 is toast. add in freesync and this is the hottest entry level enthusiast card on the market...especially as other (bigger) vendors are going to be churning these out for Xmas.

That purely depends on memory bandwidth and latency. What I really like is that they name it RX-590. One could almost tell that AMD does not want to taint next series with rebrands.

Wasn't the 590 rumored to have 40CU?

it can't. 36 CU's is the GCN4 polaris at any nm

....now it has a nice Guru3D Blue tone to it .....
I LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Nitro + cards, they are some of the best AMD cards around. But good God, get rid of the hideous blue color.

But the blue looks really nice in a white case.

Two DP and two HDMI? Well crap, another card that doesn't match my triple Freesync, as I have 3 27" Freesync, from before the era of Freesync-over-HDMI.

Way to introduce yourself. r9-390 is cut down chip. RX-480 is full chip. And there are big changes in between them. Therefore clock-2-clock RX-480 is better.

@tunejunky only if a lot cheaper than 1070/ti.

No problema at all. Xbox One X's GCN4 has 40 CU. Well, at least they didn't call it RX680.

This. If it will not be a custom variant like the special one of XboxNoneX they should be banned from customer's conscience somehow. They can't put a x90 nametag and offer you again the same gpu same gen only shrank and oc'ed. It will not worth the money only for lesser power consumption. They can give you these 4 CU's with some overclock and we have a gpu near Vega 56 and much faster than Fury X. It is not that hard to fill that gap. They already have 580. At least nvidia will upgrade Vram in 1060. That's a better move for game fluidity. Red team is drunk.

It's quite obvious AMD didn't want to invest more than 120 dollars in the development of this particular model. It wasn't enough to increase the CU count even if they had examples elsewhere.

Why do you think it will not also have better performance? And even if it doesn't, why shouldn't they issue the same design but shrunk and OC'd? Less power is a very tangible benefit to me. And they aren't misleading anyone, especially by keeping the 5x0 nomenclature. What's wrong with that? If they named it anything else people would scream. This just seems like griping that AMD is not coming out with a 2080 killer. I get that. But they need to make money wherever they can, if there's to be any hope of a much better card down the line. This is just a reasonable and possibly smart product; hardly anything to complain about.

Did you see much difference between 480 and 580? Expect the same thing more or less. Just a more eco friendly solution. 590 without a tiny upgrade is DOA for existing users. Useful only for OEM and new builds. Bad gambling in my book.

The 1545 clock sounds nice as long as it can OC around 1700 without to much over voltage. The RX580 of this version was 1430/8400. So if can get close to 1700 with the 8400 ram it will make a strong card if the price is around $300. If you have a 480 you may want to upgrade if only because you have a free sync monitor, because you will get a very good boost, but that really the only reason. Chances are you will find a Vega 56 for not much more next month on sale that is still stronger.
