Hilbert Hagedoorn:

the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX Vega 56 was listed at a jawbreaking 789 euros. It's 'released' February 12 yet when and if the card will be in stock somewhere remains to be seen.
Okay, that's... a little bit much for a 1070 Ti performing card (which is 300€ less), accompanied by the fact that availability yet remains to be seen.

Yeah and once it's in-stock then the store is likely to push the price as high as possible to maximize gains due to the popularity of these cards and the scarce availability, should be a shipment in early February of Vega GPU's from checking a couple of stores but I see there's one store that has a few of those MSI Airboost Vega 56 GPU's in stock, selling for 1280 Euro currently. Well hopefully a lessened shortage will see prices fall below the 1000 Euro threshold at least, doubt it'll go down to the 400 - 600 MSRP depending on card model for Vega 56 though and the 64 is also fluctuating wildly though it's almost never in stock for long. (Sweden tends to have a higher price range for computer parts but it looks like Vega is going for ~1000 in many other countries in Europe currently so it's not really worth picking it up for gaming and it's actually a better deal to go for the 1070, 1070Ti, 1080 or even the 1080Ti being less expensive now while offering better performance ha ha.)

Even though I'm highly interested in Vega 56, I won't buy one for more than about 420 €. When the miners sell their cards, then everyone can have an AMD card very cheap.

Second end of this story is that all of them will be used for mining until they all die out...

Lol, but an ex-ming card just to send it back to the mines

Vega is over engineered quality wise, crazy Vcore quality and layout. they should mine into obsolescence easily. [youtube=zeoiPVVUnl8]

MSRP is ignored. 1070ti are going for $800 used in the US right now. $850 on newegg atm.

Yeah... not here. They are a bit more expensive, but thankfully not that much. Still, it only shows how overpriced that Sapphire launch is when that card's MSRP matches the inflated prices at release.

But see it this way: For only about 50 Euros more (~839) you get the x64 red devil. Isn't that ... something? 🙂

Come around, please come here! Prices makes you shake in fear! Newest graphic, oldest tech, for a price as high as heck. Buy one for the price of eight. Hey come on, let's have some faith. The price will drop the next decade, and until then we will debate, on how ridiculous this is and what-the-fu*k a miner is.

I'm patiently waiting AMD GPU prices to get real before I upgrade to a VEGA 56 or 64, prolly buy one cheap when this price gouge is a thing of the past.....or, perhaps wait for VEGA 2 (or whatever it may be called).

So these are collectors cards as we will never buy them!

For some reason I just do not like the way it looks.

There's someone local selling a Vega 56 for $450....Me thinks one should buy this to use and/or sell.

I just saw a 1080TI on craigs list locally for just under $800, a couple infact.
