I guess its DP 1.2. There is no DP 2.x yet. 😉

Must be the wrong way round.

Another day, another post about new monitors that nobody can buy because none of the big UK hardware sites/shops actually buy/stock them to sell. And with the rate of new monitors coming out every minute of the day how could the big shops keep up with them...

I own the Samsung U28D590D model which i believe has the same panels as these, mine advertised that it has 1MS response time but it is a big fat lie. It can claim 1MS because under the "Fastest" setting of response in the menu, the monitor will distort the colors with a weird ghosting effect just to wash out the effects on the screen to technically make it 1ms. Yes... 1ms but with a TON of Ghosting... and even then, the input lag is very high, the monitor is great for many games but you'll have your rear end handed to you in a timing sensitive online game.

has this come out yet and if so where?? this is the hundredth time almost i've seen this monitor listed as launching yet can't find it sold anywhere. want to get onboard for 4k but with few g-sync monitors out and freesync being more reasonably priced than the competition i think amd has something up nvidia.

Nope its a TN. The 4ms ones are IPS. The those "ms" are measured under heavy overdrive, and only the fastest - grey2grey color shift is advertised. A few words on response time: ALL LCD`s have around 10ms pixel response time. That "1ms gtg" advertised is the fastest color shift (grey to grey) measurement under heavy overdrive. All other color shifts are only worse under that heavy overdrive. And if you even used that much overdrive you would have clearly visible bright inverse ghosting going on. BUT: the three technologies which are in fact GOOD for enjoying motion are: CRT = 0ms pixel response time for ALL color shifts equally DLP (projector) = 1ms pixel response time for ALL color shifts equally OLED = 0.01ms pixel response time for ALL color shifts equally Since CRT burns eyes and is too small and dead. And since OLED is way too expensive. The best way to enjoy motion right now is in fact a DLP projector.
I never said it was IPS, mine is also clearly TN, this the exact same monitor I have except that it supports dp 1.2a with freesync. I dont disagree with what you said but my old monitor with 2ms advertised TN panel is far faster than this one with supposedly 1ms.
