But in real life they doesn't show to keep up that good, like in these tests.
Isn't it actually the opposite? TechReport's SSD endurance test showed that the vast majority of the drives lived way past their recommended lifetime. The 840 pro is warrantied to 73TB but it lasted over a petabyte in TechReport's testing. http://techreport.com/review/26523/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-casualties-on-the-way-to-a-petabyte In fact as of 3 weeks ago the 840Pro is at 1.5PB. http://techreport.com/review/27062/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-only-two-remain-after-1-5pb/4

As a guy who knows close to nothing about SSDs, is this something to look for, for upgrading my 64gb intel ssd to a 256gb one? Thanks.

At this time, it is one to consider. I wouldn't hesitate to try one.

I didn't use their computers, i just diagnosed them. And ssd has no mechanical parts, so it's hard to do something wrong. Voltage is pretty stable at home =) Mechanical HDDs working fine since 2008. Had one bad HDD in my lifetime at home. And changed bunch of bad HDD's at work. I don't know how they've been used.

Hope this means 1TB SSD's for under $399 and 2TB SSD's for $599
SSD need to come down alot more then that, I love my SSD but for storage they are simply not worth it way to costly
