Do most/many people just use their phone without a protective case? I ask because on this phone and previous Galaxy phones, people complain about the looks. My GS3 isn't particularly special looking either (white plastic) but I never see it anyways, it's in a nice looking case.
On a side note, whoever designed the GS3 to have the camera lens sticking out lower than the entire rest of the bottom surface was a real moron. You have to buy a case or you can't help but eventually scratch that camera lens when you lay the phone down.

I guess I'm superman then, because Pentile looks grainy to me. Sammy stinged out on their flagship model for the year, I'm not the one who needs to be objective. Nothing I say changes the fact that they cheaped out, praising them for it certainly won't. Using the excuse that it's easier to cram in a Pentile screen is weak, every competitor has managed 1080p with a regular RGB pattern IPS.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to get Note 3 or wait for SGS5. I opted for getting Note 3, and it looks like it was a good decision.
SGS5 is by no means a bad phone. It's great, and it's the best SGS so far. The problem is that there are other great options too, like Note 3, or Xperia Z2 if you don't mind sharp corners. It doesn't look like a must-have upgrade for SGS3/4 users either. To be honest, they could make back cover look like one from Note 3 and it would look much better.

I had a Nexus S which has a pentile screen. Its not about ppi, the crap sub-pixel arrangement makes it so grainy. I don't care if it has deeper blacks, etc since other phones that don't use AMOLED have very good color and talking about color, AMOLED doesn't even look natural IMO.
And....that ugly design:puke2:

I hate the uneven solid colours and memory on amoled screens. Pentile hurts a lot on my Galaxy S. The IPS screen on my Lumia 920 is better except blacks are not as deep obviously but it is much faster. There is quite a bit of blur on Galaxy S.
