So are they HDMI 2.1? Did they mention Hz rate?

There is something off here. The price listed on Samsung site for Q60R 49" is 1000 $ for US probably. I don't see it logical that the Q60R 43" will be 999 euros in Netherlands/ Europe. It's too much.

Samsung TV's are trash... I own one because I was forced to return my Sony X900f due to dead pixel and they only had Samsungs in stock.... but dealing with my Samsung NU8000 for the past year, I'd rather have a few dead pixels than Samsung. Their whole Tizen OS is garbage that has ads WITHIN the menu itself.... it's got only about a dozen apps on it's "App store" and one huge issue is you can't even play 4K HDR movies from your USB stick, BECAUSE their native video player doesn't support the new audio codec of h265. On the other hand the Sony runs on pure Android, you have access to the Google Play Store so you can download whatever you want, you have what seems to be a MILLION more picture settings and options, and the picture itself is better because of the CPU Sony uses which is much faster than whatever Samsung has.

Just wait another year or two until Samsung deems your TV to be "old" - apps will the start disappearing from your TV after it auto-updates. My TV is probably 4 years old and I have had the spotify app forcibly uninstalled along with a handful of others. Thankfully we have a Roku hooked up to our TV and it works flawlessly, but it still upsets me that Samsung pushes TV updates (that supposedly include security patches) which also change/remove installed apps/channels. If you have the option or can find a "dumb" TV with a high-end panel, then I recommend that and ditch the smart TV altogether. I haven't looked at them for years but there is a (korean?) company called wasabi mango that sells large, good-quality HDTV panels that have zero frills: no smart tv and sometimes not even a tuner or built-in speakers.

That seems normal. Remember that US prices are without taxes, EU prices are with taxes, so you can add an easy 20% for VAT alone, plus some othe random small increases.

What evidence do you have, I have owned 2 Samsung tv`s in the last 9 years, a 32" series 5 and my current 40" series 6, the 32" was used mainly as a tv but also used with my pc, bought it second hand on Ebay 9 years ago and sold it 4 years later still in full working order and replaced it with my current series 6 40" which was from Tesco outlet online and was used with my Sky box but now have connected to my pc as i bought a Panasonic which is a good tv but picture quality is no where near as good as my Samsung which was also from Tesco online and still works flawlessly, i have had this one for nearly 5 years and have no doubt that i will have it in another 5 years....unless i win the lottery....in which case i will buy a bigger 4k Samsung or may be 2, i also use a little 18" Samsung syncmaster as my Acer 27" monitor which was also connected to my pc passed away recently, 18" is a bit small for me and while the gtg time is not as good as my big Samsung it has a really good picture even when using 1440p dsr, Samsung tv`s are not trash.

Yep, Samsung TVs are overpriced [same price as OLED] antiquated [not OLED] trash. If you buy proper OLED TV you wont go to LCD ever again. Also Samsung has HDMI 2.1 ONLY on 8K sets and the top most 4K range while LG will have HDMI 2.1 across all their TVs. This year ill be either replacing my LG C6P 55inch PC Monitor to 2019 LG OLED with HDMI 2.1 with VRR [sadly wont work on nvidia for now] and 120Hz 4K OR ill keep my old OLED as 3D TV for 3D blurays and console 4K games and get myself ACER X35 or ASUS PG35VQ, when they finally come out, these are MONSTER 35inch monitors with 512 back-light zones, 1440p 21:9 200Mhz, GSYNC Ultimate, HDR1000, 35inch is a little on the low size for my own taste but GSYNC and HDR1000 are great features

QLED is not bad... Its a great evolution of LED. It can be really "close" to OLED but once you seen OLED, you never go back... I refuse to buy any new monitor or TV unless it is OLED or better viewing quality.

A "Samsung NU8000" is not QLED, besides...anecdotal argument is not worth much.

'proper LED' would be an LED television using nothing more than Light Emitting Diodes per pixel of RGB, and the only company trying to shrink LEDs so we can get this on televisions is...Samsung. Organic LED's are junk - the burn-in is so bad that no manufacturer will issue a warranty for the panel. Picture quality might be nice, but what good is that when you cannot even use the television as intended. I have done a lot of research on this (for a variety of reasons) and this evidence is not even debatable.
MegaFalloutFan:

Easy, buy LG OLED
See: my comments above, and in other threads where no-one was able to debate me. OLED is bad bad bad bad. QLED, on the other hand, has a ten year warranty for the screen, and you can use it for gaming, things with logos (like the news and sports) and anything that has a border, or, different aspect ratio than the television (movies, see: Sony, LG, Philips, Panasonic) and you can do this using whatever contrast settings you want to (see: Sony, LG, Philips, Panasonic), and, for as long as you want 24/7 for ten years. /mic

I was panicky about my LG oled when I got it but now I just do whatever on it. Use it like a normal TV and don't even care. RTINGS burn in tests show the TVs do burn in but its like weeks of 18 hours a day cnn logo in the same spot. I haven't had any issues with my use. Picture is excellent.

If anything is worth watching, its worth listening to as well. Which is why many people just hook their TV into an AV receiver and/or HTPC. Which makes these total non-issues to many.

LG make most (if not all) of the OLED panels, so if there is a company that would/could issue a warranty against burn-in / image retention, it would be them, but no, they do not - if you get any issues with the image moving forward (bearing in mind that organic material degrades, sorry) you will have an expensive paperweight.

I guess I shall wait for MicroLED 8K SmartTV.

Qleds are NOT technology. just their marketing name for enhanced color, same thing lg/sony have since 2012. watch HDTV.test on YT and see how a 2018 Q9 gets "beaten" by a 2016 Z9D. samsung knew that the sony has about 1000 zones, yet still went cheap and gave the Q9 just 400, while the tv is more expensive, not brighter (like they used to be in the past) and have one of the least accurate (color) picture. just the fact that they say: 100% color volume.. of what? an interlaced SD signal from 30y ago? oleds are made by lg, but sony is actually behind it, and working on micro led for years as well, not just samsung. and so far, i know ZERO ppl that had burn in on sonys, nor the lgs (can only speak for 2018), yet have at least 2-3 ppl every month returning samsung tvs (especially qleds) because they are broken (lines on screen), or because the picture quality is crap and they switch to the same model from lg/sony. outside the fact that ANY consumer product is coming with 1y warranty covering ANY manufacturing defect from (at least sony). anything else is make believe supported by samsung. for the past 20y they never mentioned ANYTHING about burn in not being an issue on lcd tvs, yet since last year they do. another thing to mislead consumers cause the are not allowed to make oleds, and the stuff they have is crap. how many screens that are used by pros in hollywood, are made by samsung, and how many are sony? and why would pro's pay 50K for a 32" OLED, if (any) samsung would have better image quality? reminds me of 2013 when samsung vendor was stating "we are future proof" (4K). couple month later, 4K was going up from 30 to 60 Hz. samsung: oh, next year, new tv, i will have it. sony: firmware update.
