I've been watching Sabrent grown on Amazon from the sidelines, very impressive how far they've come. Literally every other review I watched on YouTube in the last week had Sabrent SSD's.

I'm a bit confused still about the situation with these new motherboard slots for SSDs.... still using the SATA for SSD Windows C drive. I'm using an "x570 Asus Hero VIIII" and have all SATA ports in use (1 x 2.5" SSD, 5 x 3.5" HDs in bays, 1 x 3.5" hotswap HD bay) If I replace the SATA based SSD drive with an M2 drive like this... will the SATA port now be disabled? If I put two of these M2 drives on motherboard, does that disable more SATA ports?? EDIT FOUND INFO: "Between the PCIe slots and hidden below the heatsink and shroud are two M.2 slots. Both slots are able to run SATA or PCIe based m.2 modules. The primary, (top) slot will hold up to an 80mm drive, while the bottom slot supports up to 110mm. As is the norm on X570 due to the PCIe lane count, no SATA ports will be affected regardless of what type of M.2 module is used." I don't know what difference is between "SATA or PCIe based m.2" though.

Been using a standard rocket 2TB for my game drive in my PC (replaced a 1TB 600p) and it's very impresive. It blows my 960EVO away in benchmarks. I really want to get two 2TB for RAID0 on my laptop.

@geogan m.2 is the drives "format", not a connection the sata drives are just that. ssds with sata interface. thus they will not perform better than if the identical drive with sata connector is hooked up to sata 3g. the pcie based m.2 drives use the pcie lanes (cpu/chipset) directly, and circumvent the sata limits (of about 5-600MB/s). so even that my 3rd port isnt full speed (x4) i still bought a pcie drive , and perf is about double vs the sata based ssd i still have.

You might want to opt for JBOD - it offers overall better performance for SSDs than RAID, at least as far as games are concerned. You probably won't get the same level of sequential read/write as RAID0 but CPU overhead will likely drop. Also, if one of the drives fails, you won't lose everything (you only lose what's on the failed drive).

Nice, these looks like solid drives and also with real nice pricing. Just a small question, why is the Seagate FireCuda 520 (Gen4) drives not in the benchmarks? If you Guys don't have the 520's yet 100% check them out they are priced very well for Gen 4 drives and have amazing performance. I would be really interested to compare the two in benches etc. Anyways thanks for the benches as always, good stuff!

This problem is on a lot of X470 boards. My friend's board will drop two SATA ports if his second m.2 is populated.

I was also sceptical initially as well, as I had a first generation Ryzen motherboard that would disable SATA ports if I had a m.2 drive installed. After reviewing my motherboard's specs (X570) and manual, I found that it wouldn't disable any SATA ports if the m.2 ports were populated. Currently running a Corsair MP600, 1TB, as my C:\ drive and I'm delighted. Noticeably faster over a standard SATA SSD? No, honestly. But everything is still snappy, smooth and fast. Also, it's just nice thing to have.

Ha ha. I just saw that video today. That guy Linus is a genius for the clickbait titles... I think it had over 2 million views already in only 2 days - crazy numbers 😱 And yes sure we could all buy that cheap $50 PCI card he also showed and stick a load of SSDs on that if needed for video editing.

Ordered this sabrent. Goes in an x570/3800x build this week as the OS drive. I already have a 2TB Intel 660p nvme drive for games, so this build will be all nvme. I'm interested to see how those drives perform together. The 660p has that massive write cache plummet (if moving, say, 50-100GB) but it is great for loading games. I may try loading same games from each to see the difference. I bought the drive with a sabrent heatsink (extra $20). I noticed the next day, the motherboard I ordered has 2 nvme heatsinks already. Don't shop parts at 3am. 😉
