another one hit outta the ballpark HH the 1tb is way too pricy and idk how many would opt for a relatively small game drive. the 2gb is right on the money and is a useful size. large volume m.2's are usually a reach for me for the heat issues (even tho' i have heat sinks) and price issues. like HH said some high end users will want theoretical performance, whether or not it's realized. for myself, i'm a pragmatist so i go for those much less expensive pcie 3.0 M.2 for large volumes...and even those can get toasty to the point of throttling (tho' not in normal use unless you have massive files for work)

Wish there was a way to get Direct Storage comparisons because that's what this drive is about. I guess it needs to get more mainstream still Real solid performance though.

How is this optimized for direct storage it dont look any different then the rest, less i missing something

I was trying to figure this out last night, the actual specs are similar to my ssd other than a tiny bump in read / write... I figured it's the speed?

PR marketing?

But gen4 is still expensive per tb then again so Sata SSD 50$ for 2TB nvme consider for 50$ you can get 4tb mechanic. probably never gona happen despite them saying it happening

I want to replace my rocket 1tb gen4 and put in the second slot so i can get 1tb gen5 for the first slot. If they can do 150$ for new drive i'll start considering it.

If you want the sequencials sure but until the direct storage is actually in use ... https://www.skroutz.gr/s/33940101/Western-Digital-Blue-SN570-SSD-2TB-M-2-NVMe-PCI-Express-3-0-WDS200T3B0C.html now if direct storage come out full swing and there is a meaningful difference then I would look for a pcix4.0 drive ...(5 if I am on a 5.0 platform at the time)
