Zen 3 is a strong performer and does not need any refresh just slight price adjustments, though you can find many models at MSRP unlike GPUS...

A 11900k and a 5900x is the same price here too.
Prices looks to be correct here, unless you mean that the Intel chips are to expensive too?

I am days away from pulling the trigger on a 5950x (waiting for a waterblock to come into stock) and this happens.
I know there's always new stuff around the corner but this news makes me feel like holding out.

Seeing as they use "at least" now, "at least" 5GHz means we should be seeing 5.1/5.2 right? That would be nice. Would have liked to see a higher base clock though.

Amazon EU had the 5800X for around £300 a couple of weeks ago. It didn't last long as you can imagine.

I've had already 3x 5950x and all were sadly badly binned... Either low boost or broken memory controller...

why are people complaining "prices are too high" when its literally selling out within seconds? prices aren't too high, you're just too cheap to justify spending $800 on 16 zen 3 cores. you want the performance without paying for it. if you want to spend less and get high performance, maybe look at buying previous gen parts.
if a part is actually priced too high, people won't buy it and it will sit there in stock for ages without ever running out of stock.

it's the best gaming cpu atm but a very nonchalant buy imo if there are cpus 30-40% cheaper that perform within a few percent difference
