Arez? Sounds better than "peasant", "average" or even "subpar"...

"facepalm" At least they didn't name it - iAreZ or xXx_AREZ_xXx (and make logo full of RGB and blink like crazy to cause an instant epileptic strike) 10/10

The Z is completely unnecessary.

It may be a stupid name, but it's a hell of a lot better than "Republic of Gamers". Ugh... that's possibly the lamest branding in all of PC gaming.

I disagree everywhere in my PC, stamps, badges and room and even mousepad etc, you see ROG. It is the Truth of truths.

I'm not saying they're bad products. There's nothing wrong with owning them, because the features are great. But the branding is just so juvenile and nerdy.

I suppose they're marketed towards young people overall so I can see how that name works. However some of us gamers grew up in the meantime. @topic Arez sounds like Ares' retarded brother. Since ASUS decided to comply with Nvidia's bullshit, I'll avoid them when I can from now on. My only ASUS hardware are laptops and their batteries suck small cocks anyway (yes, it's worse than sucking normal or large cocks). This is the second laptop I've had where the battery started refusing to be reliable (instant random shutdowns) after only 2 years. Now it refuses to hold any charge at all. Friends have had the exact same problem, if my gf's Zenbook does the same with its integrated battery I'm ditching their asses for good. Excluding her laptop that's a 100% failure rate within 2 years.

Is nVidia becoming a Monopoly because it's certainly behaving like one. AMD GPU division need to get back into the game or we are all doomed to even higher prices and wait time on gpu orders.

In the future only Nvidia products are allowed to use ROG, so it will disappear from motherboards and other things. Take good care of your old stuff.

That was exactly what I thought when I first saw it, why not just go with Ares? Having your cards branded after the god of war would actually be pretty cool. Arez sounds like AMD just died and are begging for help to come back from the dead! On second thought, maybe that's no coincidence...

Nah, it's so much cooler to make up your own mythology and name your brand after the "God of Gaming"! 🙄

right now AMD gpu are still higher priced than NVidia... don't know what argument can stop AMD's free fall on not minning GPU.

Actually, that's one of the rare cases they didn't do something completely ridiculous. A strix is a mythological owl (I think owl? Some bird of prey anyway). The Asus Strix branding at least involved a mechanical looking owl, so they stuck with the theme. However, Strix is a pretty random creature to pick, and it wouldn't surprise me that the only reason they did was because of the X.
