Saddens me they neglected rdr2 so much after release.

Let's face it. At this point they could be giving GTA5 away for free, and still rake in ludicrous amounts of money in Online. RDR2 not so much...

Can we expect GTA VI announcement anytime soon? One can dream.

I think it's about time Rockstar cut ties with Take Two interactive...I mean, why are they even bothering with a publisher at this stage of gaming? But hey, everyone knows I do not think publishers need to exist any more, yet they got all these franchises for some ungodly reason. Think about it - you mean to tell me that Rockstar don't have enough money to publish themselves? C'mon...

Sounds like Rockstar employees were living up to their names. I'm expecting the next one to primarily focus on multi-player. [youtube=UVnkN-Sb3eg]

Can you imagine that top 8 richest persons in the world have 10 TIMES more money than this BIG COMPANY. lmao. Bezos has 23x more money than this company made out from their biggest title in like almost 8 years. Alone. What world we're living in, you can barely imagine the amount of money that Rockstar has/made out of GTA V, let alone top richest people.

I seriously hope they don't change the working formula. What I expect is for them to embrace the online portion right out of the gate, it'll be a stronger MP title, but not at the expense of SP. I can't be the only GTA fan who simply has no interest in the online functionality. For me, it's all about the SP experience. *Crystal ball* - I think the free release last week signals GTA 6 is imminent. We are overdue if you look at the GTA release history. I say within 6 weeks. 😀

I jumped in for the top patched GTA 5 curtesy of Epic. I have the original version already installed @ 60GB but Top Patch comes in at 90GB. I don't have the space for it. 🙂

I have every GTA game on PC and never played any of them more than a few hours and still not get the itch to play them but that Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is perfect for me ,got 1000+hours played in single player only. I would never touch online play so I am not a good customer for these guys. They do make games that people really like and I wish they keep producing great game.

I still don't get why thier games are so popular. I attempted to play some of the GTA games back in the day and I never "got it". I played RDR on PS3 - it was fine, but I didn't think it was all that special. I never bothered to pick up GTA V, so I picked up the free copy from Epic. I did buy RDR2, but that was mostly to play some online with a friend, which turned out to be pretty buggy and broken. The single player turned out to be a nice surprise though.

difference is that this big company actually has 5-6b in the bank which they are free to use, bezos is "worth" whatever many times more, but that isnt money he can use, if he even gave a hint that he would try to use even a third of it, it would instantly vaporize just for reference, he apparently manages to grab around 1b per year to pour into his space ambitions, and if i were to guess that guy REALLY wants to beat musk to be the space/global emperor, so around 1b per year is the most he can actually get his hands on

A much more limited range of monetization possibilities. With GTAO Rcokstar could release 10 cars that are all functionally the same, same speed, same grip, same acceleration. make them look different though and people will still buy them. It's pretty much exactly what they ended up doing. The most recent batch of cars, the ones from the last 3 or so updates are all functionally worse for racing than the cars that came before them yet because they look different, or sound different and have the ability to be modded to give a level of uniqueness people will buy them. How many variants of a horse are people willing to buy? How much can a horse be modded, make it that much more different or unique to the same horse your mate or any other player bought? The setting of the game limits their capability to add legitimate content that thematically fits, I haven't played RDR2 but I am willing to bet that Rcokstar opted for player survival content to encourage spending. This is stuff like armour and clothes that wear, guns that require some sort of refit or repair to keep working effectively, or worse some sort of player survival mechanic such as having to buy and consume food other wise your avatar becomes less effective in game. It's a tactic that they steered pretty much clear of in GTAO more or less but I suspect they used it in RDR2 and most folk will get pretty bored of this play the game to earn enough to keep playing the game tactic and quit which leads to them struggling to get players to spend real cash and if they are struggling to get players to spend real money then they are in turn going to just neglect the game. People will praise Rcokstar for the amount of content they released for GTAO but the reality is that the fundamental bugs, flaws and issues that the game had, still has and developed over the course of it's life very rarely got fixed unless they could be directly linked to affecting customer spending. They only kept giving out content because people were willing to spend money on it.
