Good! For mp that is.

I was resilient to buy the delayed delayed delayed late PC version, but found me tempted once again as apparently, it's not the worst port, but seems to do fairly well. But with policy changes like this (which I would support for online play, but not sp at all), it makes me avoid this game again. Thanks r*, you're only making my life easier 🙂

Well, they sold preorders and basically the most of what they could, so they feel free to introduce one-side changes to EULA. Way to go! I'm glad I haven't bought this game. It's not that I care that much about modding, but rather about respect and not abusing power. What if people don't want to accept new EULA? Can they get a refund? Or they can just stop playing and let the game catch dirt?

In a game where SP and MP data are linked or even the same, is it too much to ask "If you want to play multiplayer, keep the game intact"?

Wow they took what i thought was a good game and consolized it. I was waiting for a good steam sale but now i wont even bother.

Or, if they were smart and would show at least some loyality to the pc platform, they could say 'Look at that people, not only do we bring you a proper port, but too, you're free to mod your sp game.' So for those who can't wait, let there be consoles. For those wanting to mod and get better graphics, let there be a pc version. But no, they want to annoy people, so they won't sell as many pc copies as they could have.

Well I already have the game on Steam... only have the Widescreen Gaming FOV trainer... but this news confirms it... I am going to go download another copy of this game and go crazy with mods on that copy, and keep my Steam copy completely clean and free of mods. That's basically what they're making us do with this decision, it's unfortunate and I understand their reasoning, but their method is flawed. Now excuse me while I go download again a game that I already have installed :bang:

Obvious cash grab is obvious. Release on PC with promise of MP features, people jump even if they care little for story in SP just because it has promising MP. Then Rockstar looks for fast way to destroy MP which costs money every month and decreases profit. (Same as Call of Duty series do every year, they use other means... they let cheaters break MP for them.)

Why people keep saying "Fov mod is harmless" when you can snipe anyone using a pistol and modding the fov in this game?

IMHO multiplayer, in any game, should no be allowed for modding, as it may give some advantage over other players (no fog, no smoke, enemy players with big red helmets & flashing eyes 🙂 , etc). Unless there is a mod and everyone on particular server is using it (for example something similar to AIX2.0 for BF2). But why some companies ban mods for singleplayer? Because they can 🙂 More and more companies follow that idea. Perhaps in future they will release "special" versions of their games which will be allowed to be modded (for some extra $ of course) - something like Garry's Mod?

Default 1st person FOV range is way too small anyway, it does not feel like PC game. It feels like console game where player is supposed to sit 2+ meters away from screen on couch.

Yayk, I should stop having on my face Completely Overkill mask in Payday 2, since now cops can see me well. Intelligent thing to do is to allow modders to play with modders and clean with clean. If company does not want mods to be present in game, then it should listen to paying community and make game features which make sense. I believe Rockstar has enough experience not to do this sh*t as a mistake, so I consider it as intentional act, least effort+highest gain.

Only thing I will say in response to this, it's not right but there might be a way around it. Going back to GTAIV modding, people had 2 installations of the game. One for online MP, and one for mods with Live disabled. I'm not sure if there is an offline loader for GTAV, but if there is(you do the searching) then you could do that for mods.

Bann everything affects the multiplayer is a good choice. But 2 weeks bann is to soft, just delete the account, let them buy it new again. There are so much piece of **** people cheating in this game, its currently unplayable.

Wow It's incredible how Rockstar is bending over backwards to dissuade modders from literally making the game more fun, which is the cornerstone of what gaming is all about. The ONLY reasons I can think of for them doing this is because: A. They don't want to spend the money to pay people to come up with anti-cheat methods that actually work. B. They're so incompetent with networking or the game has become such a bloated mess of code and patches that control of their game has completely gotten away from them (leading to A.) or C. They're planning on releasing DLC and they don't want modders giving people free content before Rockstar can exploit/ nickle & dime its customers. 🤓

What's bexond me is, they do check for mods installed on or in this game... why do they make such a check on starting it, rather than just trying to join online servers?
data/avatar/default/avatar11.webp
Good, if you nodding online that would be utter douche in my view. However not having a separate executable for the online portion is a flaw on r* part.

That wont completely cover it. there is also the social aspect embeded in the single player campaign. eg. see how fast people complete missions, stuff like that. if you check the lap times on races for instance, you will see that some people completed a race within 20 seconds which would normally last minutes.
