lol at Dx11 beating 12. 😛

Lame results. I mean...2080ti 1080p and only 133fps? Good here is non sRTX enabled, and tbh I do not wonder why now...

CPU bottlenek i think, i getting 107 fps ultra 2560x1440p with my GTX 1080 Ti and stock i7 8700k.

It's interesting how EA manages to make reviewers job unnecessarily difficult by having this hardware change restriction in all their games. They're great at pushing the break instead of gas for some reason. I imagine it wouldn't be impossible for them to disable the restriction on reviewer keys. Anyway, keep up the good work. It'll be interesting to see how well the old 1080Ti competes with the pack 🙂

DX12 is trash in BF1. No one runs it for competitive play. Same engine, and DX12 with RTX is somehow gonna be great on BFV? OK. I canceled my $85 US pre-order this morning because I'm locked out until next Wednesday while access premier members play the full game right now. I was one of the 1st people to play DICE's Desert Combat mod of BF1942 back in the day. I'm done.

Shame about the hardware swap limitations by EA, but keep up the good work HH. Very interested to see how RTX compares at 1080p/1440p (assuming 1440 is achievable on a 2080ti). No idea yet since we have only seen early / pre-release implementations of RTX but I'm hoping for 1440p @ 60hz RTX

i feel older AMD gens software limited performance...

What a heck happened here? A Vega LC/Nitro/Red Devil would be beating the RTX2080 on this game, out of the box. Even the reference Vega 64, if someone bothers to cut -50mv power from the P6 & P7 it would be able to do so. (I havent mentioned overclocking).

Kinda disappointed that 1080Ti, 1080, 1070 was given lower priority for benchmarking over something like Titan Xp that 0.0000001% of users have. Guess we'll have to wait.

A little patience perhaps, and a little less complaining? I spend cash and time on these reviews you know? I grab cards how they're piled up in a stack, didn't even consider the fact that I now also have to prioritize them. An EA DRM slot just opened, the 1080 Ti is in right now ...

Is the Vega 64 the air cooled version? If so that means my liquid cooled is likely matching the 2080. I guess its not so bad after all 🙄

Sorry if that looked like complaint, I'm just too excited for this stuff. Can't wait for other cards and keep up the good work 🙂

It is absolutely fascinating that Dice even bothered implementing DX12, when this is their 3rd game in a row where it consistently fails to give even 1% more performance than their DX11 implementation. Even more fascinating, BF4 had Mantle support (they co-developed it with AMD basically) and then they opted to scrap that entirely in favor of DX12. I mean, Vulkan was made form the ashes of Mantle - wouldn't it have been logical to go from Mantle to Vulkan than DX12 in the first place, like, from a programmer man-hours stand point?

you are the man HH. i don't even want to imagine your in-box.

Just thought I would post some info, my GTX 980 on High settings (which look pretty close to ultra) gets between 80fps and 100fps while running around on the ground and 90 to 120 while flying in a plane in multiplayer, single player performance is lower and is generally 80fps with some dips into 70fps. Oh and I'm also running my card at 1440mhz core and 7500mhz memory, cause its summer and things get hot here in Australia 🙂

Alright, 16 cards in. I am completely out of DRM slots, I'll continue tomorrow when they open up.

Results are a bit strange, on other sites the RTX cards have almost more 20fps in 1080p and 1440p, on same Ultra preset.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn Kudos to your steel nerves and couping with EA DRM. 😀 2080Ti performance is quite disappointing by the looks of it.

Depends very much on where you measure, I tend to think I have chosen a dense and more difficult to render scene. And secondly, at 1080P with GeForce RTX, CPU limitation comes into play. I run an 8-core proc at 4200 MHz all cores. The newer 9900K for example definitely will make a bigger difference in the CPU bound resolutions e.g. 1920x1080p and maybe even a bit in 1440p. Once all cards have been tested and DRM is cleared I'll see if I can so some perf testing with different procs, including 9900K.
