I see one popular store over here listing this particular card, RX 7900 XTX TUF OC, for only 50 euros less than the RTX 4080 TUF OC. It feels like either the store or Asus wants to make sure it won't sell.

this is one of the few areas where the "Asus tax" may (or not) be worth it. and the ROG/Strix version won't be because of the lightshow and an additional "ROG" tax.

It's the same in my country. I have no idea what Asus is thinking with the price.

"If you were hoping to score the RX 7900 XTX, you’re out of luck. It’s sold out at every retailer I checked, including AMD’s own website. I queued on AMD’s website for an hour to buy a card, but only the weaker RX 7900 XT was still in stock. It sold out during the course of writing this article..." AMD’s new graphics cards are sold out, and scalpers are already charging twice the price
yeah i missed out but there will be another tranche of cards arriving b4 new years

Yah, good luck to scalpers with selling cards at that prices. I have personally very hard time to convince myself, that I need this card. I need to buy some card at some point(my son craves for upgrade from 2080s) but I may end up buying just another 6800xt as at least I know it doesn't fail and eat less power...4080 may be an option, but not with that 1460E+ bracket.

ASUS is doing that with both brands. Strix premium is not worth it.

Good luck trying to scalp these cards...
The biggest scalpers are greedy retailers. The ones that adjust the price upwards as stocks diminish. And there will be a few brand loyal ppl who pay more for an XTX than a 4080 during shortages.

Size of Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX: 352.9 x 158.2 x 72.6 mm Size of Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT: 352.9 x 158.2 x 72.6 mm Why are they so big? My case Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact cannot fit one without removing a front fan, which I wouldn't want to do. I'm not a potential buyer anyway, but I imagined that at least the XT variant could use smaller coolers. I wish there would be some slimmer options, but manufacturers seem to use the same massive cooler on both models. Indeed these cards come with those supportive brackets due to weight. All good if those who actually buy these are happy, but for the price I would expect more than just slapping an huge and heavy lump of metal on top and calling it a day. We have seen that the factory models' coolers are adequate already, but could be a little more efficient.

That is kind of crazy. I think that's even bigger than the TUF 4090.

Ive got a TUF laptop with a 2070gtx/i7 10750H and to be honest a superb rig, the best build quality ive seen and at the time was priced very similar to MSI equivalents. The only downer is the Armoury Crate software but ive uninstalled that anyway.

The physical package is really absurd, it's like they can't be bothered to design a good cooler, so they just slap a giant one and call it a day...

So Asus is out for a quick $$$ grab, supported by AMgreeD's pricing strategy?

Have you never read about the "Asus tax"?:D

I finally read the review about this cards and this is a beast, in very way. It offers great performance and great acoustics but the cooler is massive!... Also, the XTX really comes alive with the overclocking and offers even better performance. And i really like that AMD didn`t push their reference cards to the limit, like others, giving their partners some room with their own designs. Great review!
