This is just marketing tactics but it's silly when you think about it. You can spin this another way and wonder if they won't be optimizing these games for 74.5% of Nvidia users and 10% Intel GPU users?
"Hey people buying our game, 15% of you who happened to buy AMD graphics cards will get good optimization, and the rest of you? Well screw you!".

Like you said, it is just a marketing tactic. Very rarely have I seen a game optimized for a specific brand run poorly on the other. Most of the time, Nvidia manages to pull off their own game-specific optimizations in a short amount of time anyway. Such optimizations may not be as in-depth, but they yield noticeable results, and that's all that matters in the end.
For the record, I know AMD also does game-specific optimizations, but they tend to be a bit later about it, often too late (where people have already made their decision based on initial benchmarks).

I'm really looking forward to this game on PC. As long as the performance difference between Nvidia and AMD isn't too significant, then, RE2 will do fine. However, if the Nvidia community feels their hardware isn't being utilised, then, Capcom can expect it to not get the sales they wanted.

When i read optimised for AMD it basically means no stuttering no matter what hardware you are using.
Unlike AMD Nvidia is able to optimise because its not encrypted and Nvidia have much more money to do the game drivers.
So Nvidia users and AMD users all benefit from this.

If these games are going to be released on XBox and PS4, they have to be "optimized for AMD" anyway....considering both consoles use AMD hardware....

now say it really optimized for AMD, people jumping getting AMD cards ? nope
if it run badly on nvidia, most user will just shouting hard at developer for poorly optimized games... no one cares why developer optimizing for AMD only
resident evil itself even the series have name in gaming, but still limited imo
not yet like GTA or battlefield series that people over-hyping

Where does it say that the games are only being "optimized" for AMD hardware? The games are being coded to make use of "features" that only exist in some AMD hardware. Coincidentally, the XBox One uses AMD hardware and as such, any optimization done for XBox versions of the games, should transfer over to the PC variants.
From reading the responses here, it seems most would prefer that game devs just completely ignore AMD's existence....
It's just required for the games to be playable on XBox One and PS4.....

Usually i am not a fan of remakes, moreso if the game is just being remade bcause they won't allow people to play it freely via back compat and it's a lazy quick port quick cash grab, BUT, if it's a true classic game from a few era's back then i am all for it.
