That is a 3 slot enclosure. Here are a couple cheaper ones. This one is only dual Thunderbolt 2 for 20Gb/s Akitio Thunder2 PCIe Box: http://www.amazon.com/Akitio-AMZ-T2PC-TIA-AKTU-Thunder2-PCIe/dp/B00LTAUTHE/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458260838&sr=8-1-fkmr1 The "frequently bought together list show a PCIe riser and a 500w PSU for a total of $259.98 Then there is the proprietary Alienware one for $183 http://www.amazon.com/Alienware-9R7XN-Graphics-Amplifier/dp/B00PCJXN0I/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=516HrUdfJvL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0Q02HNPZK6BVBME09JQ2
These are not made for video cards. They do not carry support for them, they offer no type of stock driver configuration that Razer offers, and it most likely does not carry enough power. Can't find anything on available power for the unit. The Alienware Graphics Amplifier costs $200 because it only works with Alienware systems, which on their own are not in any way cheap. This solution works with any machine with Thunderbolt 3.0. You also get warranty and support from Razer, and AMD and Nvidia are both on board with this offering driver support as well. Is it a little high on price? Not going to lie, there is the Razer tax on it. But I haven't seen a Razer product that had shoddy quality, or didn't work.

It requires an ACPI extension. That's it, which Razer is supplying. Considering it'll be out there, I wouldn't be surprised if most manufacturers include it, or it'll be patched in by third party.

I'm not talking strictly gaming performance. CPU benchmarks will show that the QM is vastly superior in crunching numbers. With gaming, most dont benefit at all with more than 4 threads and 2 high clocked threads will be fine for 90% of games
WTF do you think this enclosure, made by razer, a gaming company, for two laptops, both of which are gaming laptops, is made to do...

I'm gonna ask you to calm down and refrain from posts like this... Also this is made for any machine that has Thunderbolt 3.0 and the ACPI extension.

Insulting price. Most people's GPUs who buy this box will be cheaper than box itself. For 500 USD/Euros you can buy R9 390X or GTX 980. So what Razer is saying they spent as much money as AMD/Intel on R&D to create this box? Ha!

Yeah, when you think of it like that its even MORE ridiculous!
